At the point he drove through the barrier there was no way of knowing what was coming next. There could have been kids in the car. I don’t think he was going real fast at that point and if he was the likelihood of being able to draw, aim and fire a pistol with any effect is slim. This was not a combat situation or barrier. By the time a police officer could likely react shooting would be a tough decision given the way cops are prosecuted for using force these days. But heck, maybe you’re superman.
