It’s called climate. Some areas of the world get cold, others get warm. It fluctuates from year to year. If global climate warming was an issue (it’s not) then we wouldn’t hear about extreme cold spells here or there.

“N. Canada” was rhetorical from here in 85° AZ. Yes, we’re south, but we’re still in N. America and none of the cold air has begun to drop south.
