“Doesn’t it make sense to use the companies that worked on the wall under Trump?”
This first contract awarded by Texas went to just such a company - picking up right where they left off.
They have just broken ground, and started putting wall panels up!

Turns out that this award was to a company that had been building the very segment that Texas wanted done first, under President Trump. They were standing by, ready to restart.
In fact, they broke ground, and started whipping up border wall panels today!

Thanks. It wasn’t clear to me from the article that “worked on border issues before” was the same as “worked on the wall under Trump.”
It wasn’t clear to me either.
I dug into Texas Facilities Commission website, and saw who the finalists were for this contract - all the old crews from the Trump Wall - SLSCO, Fisher, BFBC, Southwest Valley Constructor, etc.
I doubt that is coincidence. Those teams know just what needs to be done, and are proven able to do it.
If the land and the money are available, they could all be off to the races in a few months.
I am all for that ;)
Impressive.
Sounds like they implemented mobilization prior to formally receiving contract?
Good to know. thanks you very much.
What’s happened to all the sections of fence that are already constructed but not installed? I vaguely remember reading that The Biden “Administration” had done something to prevent them from being used.
About $100 million dollars worth of steel for border wall panels was purchased, but not used when Biden halted work.
There are staging yards filled with them, and piles near job sites.
The Fed Gov would not sell Texas the panels that were already stacked at the job site where they just started work. They had to buy and truck in new ones, leaving the old ones just piled there.
I think we need to take back the federal government and dismantle all the departments not specifically in the USC.
