Don’t worry...the Republicans will protect us against this intrusiveness once they take control of congress. Hahaha
So you believe that adding more hoops is going to make things easier and more secure? My laptop has an infrared camera along with the normal camera in a similar ID securing scheme to make sure someone is not just holding a picture in front of the camera. It works... about half of the time, the rest of the time I still have to enter my PIN number. Of course, 12-year-old āhackersā can get around either precaution in seconds.
After working for a government agency for around 25 years I have zero faith in any security scheme that they come up with. Currently, my former department is having to enter all payroll information manually for each employee because they have been locked out of their payroll software suite because of a āransomwareā scheme. The scam artists have complete control and access to every employee's payroll account and personal information.

Sooner or later, all effective loss of personal rights will be created, managed and enforced through the IRS.
What are they going to match it to ?...do they already HAVE a picture of me?

You’re on FR so probably they do. :-}

Same institution, same experience, my wife wanted to get a small cash advance from an account which she owed nothing. She got forwarded to an employee for āsecurityā. They slashed her credit card account that she had for 25 years. And did the same to my accounts at the same time. And they were very nasty about it. She was crying when they got off the phone with them.
Wouldn’t it be easier to tattoo an identity number on everybody?
Screw ‘em. I’m done filing taxes and when they finally catch me, so use one of those tax appeal firms that settles for pennies on the dollar. And then I’ll just do it all over again. What’s the point of complying with the law anyway at this point?
In other words, the very corrupt, alleged election stealing Congress is once again hiding behind non-elected bureaucrats with respect to face scanning imo.
Career lawmakers want to keep their voting records clean so that you reelect them again. (sigh)
The bottom line is that, in order to get Congress and the IRS out of our hair, patriots need to primary STATE lawmakers who don't agree to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th Amendments.
The hoops you have to jump through when exchanging documents with the IRS are cumbersome now. This process (already used at Social Security) eliminates a lot of this stuff.
I have been going through an audit since 2019. This would make that process easier.
People are giving more detailed personal information to google every time they use their iPhones.
I think people misunderstand what this is talking about. For the average tax payer—they will NEVER use this. You fill out your forms, write your check and you are on your way.
But...if you run a business that gets audited every couple of years, this is a time saver for the taxpayer and the accountants.
I obviously don’t know your tax situation so I don’t know if you would ever need to deal with this. But I can guess that 90% of the people complaining about this, will never have to deal with it.
Then you would probably want the Platinum Version of this - which requires that you submit a DNA sample and also undergo a retinal scan.
Because "more convenience" is so-oo important to you!
(Hint: They intentionally make dealing with the IRS so damned frustrating so that they can then offer pusillanimous little "easements" like this to you to make you comply.)
Regards,
Fortunately, this is not done by the government. It is done by a third party—who is pretty good at security.
This has been in place for most government agencies that require an exchange of documents or secure information for quite a while.
You have a much larger chance of the employees at the IRS releasing your information than this process.
The 4th amendment might apply. ?
Will they buy the software from the chicoms? The chicoms would sure love to sell us the rope with which we hang ourselves.
