Nancy Davis versus Jane Wyman was a no brainer.
To be fair, a lot of Trump’s positions are similar to Pat Buchanan on economics and foreign policy. On social issues, he was pretty left, but he seemed to change them when he ran for the Republican ticket. There seems to be a broad agreement that the party has shifted to a more populist focus at the ground level and away from conservatism. There has been a change in the attitude towards tax cuts for the upper class and free trade, as well as the attitude we have had towards big business.
I am not commenting on the morality of the change in position, but I think it would be dishonest to say Donald Trump’s presidency hasn’t led to a change in priorities in conservatism. We also used to be a lot tougher on a presidential candidates past than we have been with Donald Trump.
I used to be one of those people polled by multiple organizations and Im pretty sure I see the game being played here.
Those “polls” are all rigged and this survey is really no different. There are no correct answers offered then they come to a conclusion that wasnt really part of the question. For example, “Should social security continue A. as presently funded or B. modifications need to be made funding or C. dont know?” The answer is none of the above, what the pollsters report is “100% of those surveyed support continuing social security”.
“Center for the Study of Political Psychology at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities”
Really look at that name. A university operating in a communist hell hole using a “science” packed with charlatans and fraudsters publishing results which are not capable of being reproduced that are misused to coerce the populace. This is similar to a person in a manure pond on an island of **** claiming they have successfully sorted out the more valuable b******t (just as their grants have paid them to).
Its a game of “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?” Ill bet the game is rigged something similar to this...
They asked questions about beliefs intended to sort people down the aisle then asked what these people felt about Trump. As one example, Im guessing they did something along the lines of predetermining that “All conservatives support marriage and say marriage is for life.” Based on this rule, since Trump has been married multiple times he does not represent conservative moral beliefs. “Conservatives all believe that there should be no safety nets and each person is responsible for his own outcomes.” Trump has filed bankruptcy therefor Trump has violated this no help moral value. They compared their profile of conservative personal beliefs to the actions of Trump and determined that the two didnt match to create what appears to be a dichotomy of thought.
By rigging a set of predetermined rules of what conservatives must believe, while ignoring why people voted for Trump, and then comparing those moral rules to Trumps past actions, they are able to “truthfully” report a result they were attempting to achieve.
A study with a pre-determine outcome because of the innate bias of the researchers at the U of Minn.
I can do a study, too.
So can you!
The games are up, folks. Everyone knows how they are played.
Those are things you might prefer but were they really determining factors when you chose Trump? Were you actually considering things like military funding and foreign affairs issues, economy, etc?
We had a few of the nevertrump clowns try the “We cant support an immoral man” crap around here but no one cared because none of that had anything to do with why they supported Trump.
The morals of the American liberal is “anything goes” so you cant really violate their “morals” unless you try to do something that is moral.
I don't agree with this. Also, I don't believe we ever had as many Republicans in the presidential primary as what Donald Trump had to outdo. Also, the Media was far more against Trump than any other candidate, and I can't ever recall a time where we had an actual movement of Republicans against a candidate like the NeverTrumpers have been. Those things, coupled with so many Cruz supporters that ached to not vote for Trump, prove you wrong.
There was never an Anti-Dole, Anti-Reagan, Anti-Bush (1 or 2), Anti-Romney contingent of voters Republican voters who campaigned against and ultimately voted against, as well, the primary candidate.
“I would be happy to give him a blowjob just to thank him for keeping abortion legal. I think American women should be lining up with their presidential kneepads on to show their gratitude for keeping the theocracy off our backs.” - Nina Burleigh

As Rush regularly said, the media didn’t create him so they couldn’t destroy him.
Same with President Trump.
OTOH, Brandon is a media creation, a Potemkin politician whose power would fold in a day if the idolator media turned on him.
As opposed irrational, insane cognitive dissonance with all things moral when it comes to the Democrat candidate?
Kidd and Vitriol? Who wrote this, Babylon Bee?
Certainly my views on some issues have changed over time. I would think that normal. For example, back in the early 90s I thought NAFTA would be a good thing and critics like Ross Perot and Donald Trump were wrong.
Years later I saw the economic devastation of outsourcing and the destruction of communities the spike in drug use and overdose deaths, etc that resulted in the loss of all those jobs as well as the reduction in our national security as we became more dependent on cheap foreign production instead of manufacturing things ourselves....and I saw the currency manipulation, non tariff barriers, human rights abuses, lack of ANY environmental standards at all etc in short the cheating done by China and others and I decided that no, I had been mistaken. We need to reverse the offshoring process. Trump was right about that.
I went through something similar with the Iraq war. I actually believed we wouldn’t be so stupid as to engage in nation building as they promised us when we went in. Now I have zero faith in any government agencies anymore just as I have zero faith in the Republican party establishment.
Oh yeah, another “study” done by “experts”.
Well that’s no surprise, demon rats have no morals.π
Who knew the anti-Christ would have orange hair...
I think you are right in general. FR in particular though has been particularly well disposed to him as opposed to almost every other Republican president except Reagan. You could probably go as far back as Lincoln and it would still apply.
