Getting out by train....
ULTIMATE GUIDE TO UKRAINE TRAIN TRAVEL
2018-09-25

Ukraine train travel? Yes, why not? For those who have not yet had a chance to check out Ukraine on the map, we’ll tell you one sure thing: this country is large. Few realize that it’s actually bigger than any other European country – Germany, France or Spain! The only larger state in Europe is Russia, and it’s hardly even in Europe.

Therefore, trains are no doubt the most popular mode of transportation for tourists and locals in Ukraine.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////
By bus.....
From 10 Useful Tips On Using Ukraine Bus System.

Most of Ukrainian large cities have a wide network of buses, marshrutkahs (smaller privately owned buses), trams and trolleybuses available.

Public transportation is traditionally an expert area of any budget traveler. Buses, trains, trams and subways offer great ways to save up on travel expenses and visit much of the country. But we’d like to highlight that Ukraine public transport can be an exciting and truly local experience for any traveler (budget or luxury), who is interested in getting to know the real country: without pretense and touristy gloss.

If you plan to travel between cities and villages in Ukraine, you can always choose to use the train. However, if the distances are rather short, it often makes more sense to take a bus. Bus schedules in Ukraine are tough to spot, and can often be changed without prior notice.

However, you can check out bus timetables on www.bus.com.ua website. While it’s Russian only, you can look for big city bus routes on their booking engine: ticket.bus.com.ua, which thankfully has a functioning English version.

Keep in mind that even after you buy your ticket online, you still have to present the printed voucher to the ticket counter, and pick up your actual ticket. Due to the imperfection in Ukrainian legal system, e-tickets are not allowed as of yet.

No, The invasion will come with attacks on air bases and airports, rail hubs, brides, bases and command and control centers. The grid will comedown and TV and radio stations seized by special forces. The ex-president (Pro-Russian) of Ukraine will come on to urge all to be calm and that he has worked out a peace deal with Putin (his good Friend,) and a friend of the Ukrainian People! 24 hours of fierce fighting, Then the T-90s roll though Kiev and a new government is installed as the old government flies to Poland with suitcases of cash. Lots of gnashing of teeth but in the end Nothing.

Biden’s national security adviser: “I said it so you know it’s true!”

Maybe so, maybe not. But like the current saying, “Show me the receipts.”

Maybe we need to outlaw all of that crypto mining. Right after we outlaw plastics. And private jets. And cow farts.

Jake earned his bona fides by smashing Hillary Clinton cell phones so emails could not be recovered from them. He is a foreign policy expert the way I am a brain surgeon - I once dissected a pig in high school. The Russians still have a conscript army with a one year term of service. Don’t expect it to perform like a well oiled machine with boundless esprit de corps.

No, The invasion will come with attacks on air bases and airports etc

Yes right, but not with air power first as the article states, but with massed missiles and massed artillery fire **followed** by the planes. That’s what missiles and artillery are for - softening the enemy up before risking valuable assets and lives.

The Russians do not follow western doctrine of air power first. Just about every square inch of eastern Ukraine is within Russian artillery and missile range. All targets are known and located by GLONASS (Russian GPS system).

T-90S: It will be mostly upgraded T-72Bs, T-80Us and so on. Kyiv will spared as urban warfare is too costly and the city is outside of the old Kivian-Rus’ Empire boundaries.

Its defensible borders, not cities, that would motivate any putative Russian invasion.

Its destroying Ukraine’s economy

What economy?

So why are the DC neocons persisting with this?

“”If a Russian attack on Ukraine proceeds, it is likely to begin with aerial bombings and missile attacks that could obviously kill civilians without regard to their nationality. A subsequent ground invasion would obviously involve the onslaught of a massive force,”

In proximity, Russia can put several thousand attack aircraft up at the same time. They can hit Ukraine with another several thousand conventional missiles, accurately, in 10 minutes.

Followed by armor and artillery.

The Russian version of Shock and Awe...and Blitzkrieg.

Kiev succumbs completely in 72hrs or less.

I just don’t see it happening like that, at most some border skirmishes.

Russian ground forces are 2/3 professionals.

“Nearly 400,000 contractors serve in the Russian Army as of March 2019. According to Defence Minister Shoigu, in every regiment and brigade, two battalions are formed by contractors, while one is formed by recruits, who are not involved in combat missions. Currently, there are 136 battalion tactical groups in the armed forces formed by contractors.[67] The number of conscripts amounts to 225,000 and the number of contractors amounts to 405,000 as of March 2020 and exceeds the number of conscripts by 2 times as of the end of 2021.”
