Felt bad for Schiffrin though- at least she did not make excuses.

Yes, but she sat on the course for freaking EVER. Go be depressed and shocked somewhere other than where the rest of the skiers have to look at your sorry self. Poor sportsmanship.

When the Olympics this time came on, I watched the Opening Ceremonies. That turned out to be the ONLY thing I ended up watching.

More often than not, the stuff they had on wasn’t really worth watching. Plus, they would have been kowtowing to the Chinese.

I was going to watch the Closing Ceremonies, but NBC advertised that they show it live...but they didn’t mention it was ONLY on their streaming service, Peacock. And you’d have to pay a premium fee to do so. So I didn’t.

The folks at 30Rock are right now wondering if their decision to lock up the broadcast rights through 2032 was a good idea. Granted, the French are hosting the next Games in Paris in 2024. At least the French haven’t committed genocide or have a totalitarian government.

Yet.

The Super Bowl should have been also.

That half-time show was the worst product I’ve seen directed
at an American audience of mixed social strata.

I know some of those people were big names in entertainment,
but you couldn’t sell that crap to me.

It really say something about us as a people to pipe that
—— around the world for all to see.

First of all — GOOD.

The only downside of the report is that the Olympics weren’t an even bigger ratings catastrophe than they already were.

2nd — the biggest laughs I get on these threads emanate from people who claim to not know there were any Olympics going on, or didn’t know the Super Bowl was on, or who won, or who thought the Super Bowl was being played in late March or early April, like one poster said. Those are always good for a chortle.

BTW, some network will always be dumb enough to pay some level of money to show the Olympics.

Still, it’s fantastic to see the absolutely odious Comcast corporate family take it in the shorts with a ratings debacle.

Gu renounced her US citizenship to compete for the glory of the chinese communist regime and line her own pockets [huge $$ endorsements in China].

If she was an American at one point, she no longer is by her own choice.

F*ck that c*nt.

I am not making excuses for Schiffrin, but the conditions on all the downhill race courses sucked. They need to have the WINTER Olympics at places that actually get SNOW.

However, all the racers had the SAME conditions.
Great athletes rise to the occasion. Schiffrin DNF three times. She choked.
Yet, she is still the number #1 or #2 best woman skier in the world. She very well could win the world cup again this year.

The only event I watched was the Men’s Downhill. I watched it streaming the next night on Peacock. Beat Feuz of Switzerland won. He has dominated the men’s downhill races in the World Cup for the last three years. So, he preformed under pressure and won the Gold medal for his country.

At least the next winter Olympics are going to be in the Italian Dolmites. They are going to hold the downhill events at Cortina d’Ampezzo. Site of the 1956 Olympics. When Men were Men and women were still WOMEN.

“an average of 12.2 million”

Many of Joe Rogan’s podcasts have a higher audience.

FYI, this is why the MSM are attacking Joe Rogan. He is crushing them in ratings.

I thought the Olympics were on this year, but nobody brought it up to me. Not one person, ever. I thought they were cancelled.
