“under his regime the average person is probably freer and safer than in the Soviet days”

The average person is not who our oligarchs care about. “Democracy” means promotion of trannies and man on man sex. That’s what they mean by “our values.” Putin, in 2013, stopped letting homo couples come to Russia to “adopt” children. Our elites have been pushing for war ever since.

About Peter the Great.

After cosmetically pushing westernization, ordering short beards on men, and shorter winter coats instead of greatcoats, which he personally enforced by cutting with a large knife he carried, he took a (mostly ship) technology stealing tour to the West.

While he was having fun here, many of the major landholders launched a coup. But Peter’s #2 was on the ball and they were all arrested. Hearing of this, he quickly came home...

...And personally beheaded the treacherous landholders with his sword.

German saying: “Russia remains Russia”.

Joe Biden is attracted to strong central authority, and very much admires the methods and wishes to emulate Vladimir Putin, much as the PM of Canada, Justin Sane Trudeau has always admired the methods and tries to emulate the late Fidel Castro.

True socialism and true communism do not exist in reality, they are highly idealized paradigms used to rationalize the imposition of a command-and-control regime, which has been pretty much the lot of mankind ever since the rise from the level of nomadic clans roaming the wilderness. The structure of the hierarchy remains almost always the same, the few at the top exerting extraordinary and highly micromanaged control of the proletariat within their purview. Supporting the Maximum Leader are sycophants, who have their own fiefdoms and have organized these into paramilitary organizations with their own further hierarchy, down to the lowly conscript from the proletarian ranks.

The whole purpose is to keep the peons in line, to ruthlessly suppress any dissent by imprisonment or death, for the whole machine to continue to provide well for the few. Any degree of equality or respect for the individual is crushed, and any thought outside the orthodoxy is considered heresy and apostasy. History is filled with examples of regimes that relied on these basic axioms, and in almost every instance, the peons, the peasants, the outright slaves and escaped prisoners led the revolt that overthrew the cruel and despotic tyrants.

Trouble is, one form of tyranny or despotism is often substituted for another, and the same conditions soon revert to the former state of affairs, the oligarchy is reconstituted with different members, and some similar command-and-control is re-established.

But sometimes, the pattern is broken. The rule of the people, commonly called democracy, does get established.

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.

The world seems to be headed back into the “bondage” stage with the onset of the “Great Reset”.

"Diaper brain won't remember"

But we remember Obama on open mic, telling Dmitry Medvedev to let Putin know that he will be more flexible after his re-election.

Praises Putin for Embracing the West

Hello, Joe, bringing you some news, Russia has been part of the Western World since Peter the Great at least. If you knew anything about Russian literature, art, music, mathematics, science and engineering you would know that they are firmly part of the Western World and have made astonishing contributions. It is the Russians who took ballet to what it is today.

He has been persecuting other Christian churches, just not the one he considers useful.
