Mrs. Aftergard and I are in our early 70’s and have been pissed off at the COVID porn since day one. Basically, when the masking started, we went to places that didn’t require masks. Admittedly it was hard to find such a place at first... Then we started going without masks even though the store(s) mandated it, and we began seeing more and more folks doing the same. Life has risks and risks make life lively! With the exception of doctor’s visits it’s been well over 18 months since I even took a mask out of my glovebox. I’d rather die of COVID than die of fear.
In full disclosure, we are both triple-vaxed and have no side effects, and we live in Florida, where we are free.
Although shaken by the reports at first, once the initial Fauci Flu studies and predictions were shown to be bogus in the extreme -- that is, very shortly after "two weeks to flatten the curve" -- I committed to living my life as normally as possible ... and I did. (Not that difficult to do as I am blessed to live in the "free sector" of California and it was not that difficult to ignore, much less comply with all of the bullsh!t -- the daily mega-dose of bile that spewed forth from the gaggle of egomaniacal politicians, power-obsessed unelected bureaucrats and, of course, the celebrity-enamored medical "experts" who abandoned science from the very start.)
Yeah, how is it that some blue cities are crawling with covid, but around here one may get a sniffle now and then but little more? If “covid” was as bad as they say why aren’t we having a problem with it? Answer: it’s the flu. It is being politicized and only the bureaucrats “consensus” information is allowed. Walking around with face masks on? Really?
I’m in my 60s. A number of my friends are in their 70s. None of us stopped going out. Several of them got the booster shot a few months ago, but the ones I’ve talked to said there would be no more boosters for them. Some have refused all vaccinations. A couple got them so they could travel overseas to see family. We all got together for the 4th and Thanksgiving, etc. in 2020, along with 2021.
Some wore masks for a while but even they stopped last spring. Others of us never wore the masks (except for important hospital visits or visits to government buildings that required them).
We’re also all Christians, so maybe we are less concerned with trying to live forever on earth....
