When Washington warned against that the world was in so many ways a much bigger place.
The wars of Europe were distant things that had little to no bearing on the majority of Americans who lived outside of cities and away from the reach of newspapers.
The US Civil War was actually the game changer for us. France and Britain sided with the Confederacy and notably it was Russia who sided with the Union. We discovered that isolating ourselves from the world did little to keep the world away from our door.
Two subsequent world wars proved to us that we were less safe when we stayed out of world affairs. While the last eight decades haven’t been exactly tranquil the fact of the US deterring another major war has indeed broken the global cycle of a major war every thirty or forty years.
Stopping Russian imperialism at Ukraine means we won’t wage a major war against them should they be encouraged to attack one of our treaty allies. And removing Putin from power (which is where this is going now) will mean ending Russia as a nuclear threat to pretty much everyone else.
But that is ok for them to say that. That isn’t pro-Putin.

I would ask you to at least consider that you may have
overblown the Ukraine’s threat to Russia even if it did
join NATO.

the the threat to Russia that Cuba was to the U. S. during
the height of the Cold War.
Sweden and Finland are not a threat to Russia, unless
Russia invaded them. Nobody wants Russia. The Russian
people are even angry with Putin. So are the Ukrainians
he is supposed to be saving. Note that the Ukrainians
are not mad at their leader. So much for him being some
sort of a pariah. Our president is more of a screw-up
then he is.
We are not imperialists. Look at how many nations we have
defeated militarily, and how much territory we walked off
with?
We don’t even ask defeated nations to repay our costs when
we free up their citizens, with oil or some other valued
product.

I don’t know about the leader of the Ukraine, but there is

I’d need to see the show to really know, but it seems pointing out hypocrisy, inconsistencies and double standards is not support for Putin.
The powers that be in the west set Ukraine up. Including our USA “oligarchs” and ex Ps. So they are right that the USA and others could have pushed diplomacy because we all know how Putin operates. These groups (sadly a ton of Americans) used Ukraine and took their money.
