9,000? More like 2,000 is my guess. Propaganda showing how good the Ukraine’s are may make em feel good—but, if they are such good warriors why do they need help? If they are doing so well, how come the map is turning red? America suffers from “Bodybagaphobia” Russians are not like this. We lose 500 and its a national disgrace. In Civil War we would lose 5,000 in a single battle! No one talks about How many US troops were lost on D-Day or Tarawa? War is ugly and shouldn’t exist. This one could have been stopped. The whole thing was telegraphed to the world and if Trump had been president—odds are it would never have happened.
“Note well that Putin is staying away from the battle.”
And which western leader is out there leading the troops in any of our wars or in this one that isn’t ours? I haven’t even seen Vindman out there with his Mosin Nagant.
You mean like Eisenhower and Patton were?
That kind of humor just stinks.
BOL! The more I hear about this the more I think it was highly unlikely that a Ukrainian zotted this puke.
Why? Because every single article I read on this subject fails to mention any other Russian casualties. You’d expect to hear battlefield details after this like how the man’s troops secured the area afterwards, how everyone had to duck for cover, no story of how medics tried to save his life, things like that.
This is a big propaganda score for the Russians (at home) if it’s true and they’re not exploiting it. To the contrary they’re playing it down. They’re not making him into a Hero of the Soviet Union like I’d expect them to do.
Frankly, I doubt that the man was at the Hostomel airfield when he was shot.
My money is on him getting shot in Moscow.
+1 (informative) ...except for the global warming part. ;-)
:-D
9000 troops that one afternoon during WW2 with the Soviets. Their troops are cannon fodder. Actually when you think of it Grant did the same thing although he expressed regret for that last charge at Cold Harbor
Unfortunately, what happens outside the US can impact the US. We should never go looking for trouble, but while you may not care today what happens outside of the US, we all may be made to care greatly tomorrow.
There's a reason the Russians are no longer allowing civilians to evacuate. Presumably, they would be forced to occupy the buildings that these rooftop snipers would fire from and discourage such activity.
