Every year the government pays farmers NOT to produce. If we put all of that land into tillage,

Just imagine all the prime farmland if we tore up the interstate system......................

The ground has just begun to thaw so they wouldn’t have time to plant anything just yet but there probably won’t be much planting because of the war damage.

This is what your local FR neocons want for you.

As usual you are an idiot, but I suppose you have an excuse in that you are repeating Biden somewhat.

Russia and Ukraine only represent 25% of food EXPORTS, but only 0.9% of wheat production worldwide. The concern the libtards are having is that the usual suspects are going to starve (Africa) because it is more difficult to get wheat exported from the USA and other countries than from Russia.

But this is already not a serious issue because food production is already going up by the millions of tons in India and other countries since market prices are incentivizing it. In the USA, we will produce 4 million more tons this summer than last summer due to the sensed higher demand that began in Winter.

“Russia and Ukraine only represent 25% of food EXPORTS”

Only 25% of exports lol

Driving the worldwide price of wheat (it’s a globally priced commodity, like oil) to at least double what it is now.

The same can be said of all globally priced agricultural commodities.

Russia and Ukraine export more wheat than the US, Canada and France combined.

So, yes, these commodities will be available to the highest bidder as a great portion has been taken off the market.

And this does not even take into account the reduced production due to high cost fertilizer, and in some cases lack of availability.

You are the idiot. And you hate your fellow Americans as much as you hate Russians, because you ADVOCATE for the policies that will harm them.

Our airy 'just in time' system was a fragile structure based on 'everything working' - - a fine tuned machine. Unfortunately a system is only as strong as it's weakest links - and in this case that was supply chains ... for many reason.
(Need redundant backups or expensive warehouses...

The flaw with JIT is that ‘government’ can get involved to f##k it up with almost no effort. Witness COVID and Russia/Ukraine War.

Good point.

Correction:

(Need redundant backups or expensive warehouses...or a new system based on ‘sometimes things go wrong’ because politicians make stupid decisions without knowing any of the unintended consequences...)

Three years ago, the stated estimated delivery times from Amazon, UPS, Fedex and even the USPS were pretty much correct.

All that went out the window with Covid, and now who knows what this UKR/RS is gonna be blamed for here now.
