The SPR is not to be used like this, it is an Emergency 40 supply for this country, not to manipulate oil prices or send overseas to prop Europe up.

When the SPR is drained , then what, the cost of refilling it will be huge and expensive. What if we needed that oil right now, well it’s gone.

We could use a real President. The purpose of the strategic oil reserve is to keep a ready supply of oil available in case it’s needed urgently for national defense.

Its purpose isn’t to manipulate the price of oil. (And why would we want to lower the price and encourage people to use more oil than is economically justifiable anyway?)

Western Europe is finding out right now that they should have set a bunch of oil aside for an emergency, or else they should have gone all-in with nuclear power.
