There were three days I don’ t really remember. Lost 30 lbs in a week.
I was so weak that for a month or two I couldn’t walk very far. Went back to work, and my then boss called my wife to make sure I was ok to come back.
After that, flu always hits me hard. Flu shot or not.

We usually have stopped feeding the birds by now, but it’s cold and here in zone 4b the birds are nesting and the trees aren’t even leafed out yet, so the feeder is still stocked. They seem to appreciate the birdbath.
We are on the flyway and every bird is healthy, acting normally and there are a lot of them. No dead birds in sight, at any rate. The turkeys are off in the woods and won’t return in force until January, as usual.
We will close down the buffet next week when a warmup is forecast, because we don’t want them anywhere near our garden. DH wants to photograph the yellow-bellied woodpecker, so the suet/fruit block will remain, sequestered from the garden area.
I haven’t checked in with my chicken-mom friend, but I think she would have said something if her hens were sick.

Shikimic acid is the precursor for oseltamivir. It is extracted from the star anise pod. I routinely pop a couple in my coffee or tea. Tastes good, smells good and it can’t hurt.
It is my understanding that this has a 50% kill rate?
So far though, no transmission human to human.
