A Capitol Police spokesperson declined to indicate whether investigators believe the discharge was accidental or how many shots were fired. It might not have been an accident?

The Tucson police department had a bullet hole in their elevator for about 30 years or so. I finally heard the story from the nephew of the guy who shot the gun (Also an officer.) He was alone on his way up in the elevator to a meeting with all the top leaders and practicing his fast draw! The elevator opened to him facing the leaders holding his smoking gun. Whoops.

Seems the Capitol Police aren’t even as skilled as Barney Fife.

“A Capitol Police officer has been suspended after they fired their service weapon ...”

I guess the officer’s preferred pronoun is “they/their”...

There is no such thing as an accidental discharge of a weapon. It is either a deliberate or a negligent discharge.
