Thank you for your balanced view. I have no other source of information about your royal family, except what's given in the idiot press.
My wife, who is a closet royalist, is watching the Jubliee celebrations downstairs while I, the unreconstructed democratist is sulking upstairs, while awaiting the return of the dreaded Redcoats.

I don’t understand the American infatuation with these royal cretins either. The British and the world would have been better off the last two hundred years if these royals had gone the way of the French monarchs.

Queen Elizabeth II is the longest serving female monarch in history. Taking the throne in 1952 at the age of 26, she’s been the head of the royal family for over 70 years.

A British friend who was heavily involved with The Prince’s Trust said that both Charles and Camilla were great to work for.

My opinion of Charles is not from the media rather his interviews and statements. Which probably came to you via the media, so you only saw the ones they choose to show you.
But I'll leave it there - you're allowed to disagree :)

Kate seems like a nice person. Hopefully she takes after the Queen. Every family has losers, for theirs it’s Harry.

One of the best things that ever happened to the United Kingdom and to the British monarchy was losing America’s War of Independence. It lead to a realisation that many things had to change - setting in motion a more democratic Britain, and a monarchy that became more intent on ensuring that the rights of its subjects were respected by its governments - the monarchy became the ultimate protection against tyrannical government in Britain and the Empire, and subsequent Commonwealth - rather than their tool.

They're Britains celebrities and represent continuity to many of it's citizens. I have no problem with them as they employee thousands and have benefited their country via businesses and numerous charity works greatly......

Given the Prince of Wales is already in his 70s, his reign may be short, so many are already looking towards the next generation. His genes come from two parents who lived to be in their mid (Queen) to late (Prince Phillip) 90's. He'll probably reign at least 10 years or more.

Sounds good - but poor Britain has suffered since the last two world wars and a spate of immigration. It will be interesting/terrifying to see how we all end up in a few years.
Meanwhile, I'll keep my Ferguson Rifle at the ready.
