“Russia’s Oil Revenue Soars Despite Sanctions, Study Finds”

This is easy. Selfish, craven, and duplicitous politicians are trying to play at two conflicting agendas at the same time.

1. Containing resurgent Soviet imperialist aggressions.
2. Having an appearance of trying to contain energy costs for their constituencies.

#2 being the more complex issue because at heart the Marxist politicians WANT higher energy costs. The simpletons among the left (useful idiots) want tax revenue and they want the higher costs of energy + taxes to help destroy the middle class.

Some of them are deluded into thinking that higher petroleum prices will drive people to buy electric cars when the electric cars are prohibitively expensive for most consumers and the electricity they require increases in price as the cost of the petroleum and coal needed for generating electricity increases.

Others among the left simply want to watch civilization burn so they can maybe bring about their Marxist hell-on-earth-Utopias.

If they’d simply embrace a total trade embargo on Russia, bite the bullet for a while on energy, and force the war to an end they could get back to normal business.

But in the spirit of never letting a crisis go to waste this foolish war of Russia’s is providing cover for Marxist agendas. And at the same time the Western Marxists (mostly fey pussies and lesbians) have to contain the Soviet Marxists in order to maintain their power.

Me, I just want Russia out of Ukraine. Period.

What I see as the end game here is Russia collapses as a political entity, China swoops in to retake Siberia perhaps all the way to the Urals, and Moscow more or less becomes the capitol of a reborn Muscovy. Long term, I see Muscovy joining the EU and NATO to defend against the Chinese juggernaut that will one day be poised to threaten Europe.

I would hope we swoop in to enact, for real, the scenario outlined in Tom Clancy’s clumsily-written, but likely prophetic, the Bear and the Dragon. Out of necessity, we’d probably end up with a NAPTO covering the stans and the former eastern oblasts of Imperial Russia. Ultimately, if the Chinese threat is to be defused, the Chinese empire must be broken up, not allowed to annex new territory and populations.

The uni party. Dems destroy energy and Republicans sit back and do nothing. We are so screwed.
