Am I home in Missouri I have a natural gas generator and it’s definitely a great thing when the neighbors lose their power. 2500 gallons is not a big about if you have a large home and several buildings to to electrify

” I can’t imagine one 10 times the size of mine. He’s definitely not going “green.”

His house is probably 20 times bigger than yours, so on a square foot basis he has you beat.

“What a hypocrite. Guess he doesn’t really care about green energy. They are pushing windmills and solar but know those aren’t reliable.”

When I was looking at Propane for a modest house, the plan I liked was solar with 72 hours (or so) of battery backup, and 2400 gallons of propane. During most of the time, the solar/battery combo would be fine, but the propane could kick-in during a ‘rough time’ and it would be good for normal powering of the house for around 100 days (which would include air conditioner and heat pump use, here in Texas). Propane is one of the only fuels that can be stored without degrading, indefinitely. If diesel could do that, it would win hands-down for me, but no such luck (bad things, like bugs, like to grow in diesel).

I don’t know if Obama is using solar/wind, but he would have to spend millions of dollars to have a battery backup that matches 2400 gallons of propane (which is around 12,000 kwh).

Nope. It's just 4.5 times bigger.

Not when they have ‘Robin’s Nest’ in Waimanalo to retreat to for the summer.

Sure does pay to be a justice warrior these days.

Back when I originally bought a whole-house generator, I discovered that propane isn't very efficient when powering a generator. I ended up getting both a gasoline powered unit and a diesel powered one to back it up in case the SHTF.

“The tank & installation cost in the neighborhood of $10,000 + tax or probably a little more. Only a very wealthy person could set up such an installation.”

For my NG set up, it cost me materials only.😁

2500 gallons is a lot of propane and at some of the prices I looked up (have not checked with local my supplier) it was near $3.20 per gallon. That converts to $8,000.

That is chump change to Soros’s Child Obozo, but to normal humans it is.

Propane usage:

Average furnace - 1 gal. per hour

Average water heater - 1 gal. per day

Average fireplace - 3 hours per gal. of propane

Average spa/pool heater - 4 gal. per hour

Cook tops & dryers - 5-10 gal. per month

By the way, there are not 2500 gallon tanks made. If the tank size goes over 2000 gallons, the minimum distance from building to tank then has to go to 50 feet. The largest size for close placement is 1990 gallons. Next is 3900 gallons which requires the extra distance.

Another foolish reporter just believed what the administration told them. Apparently no one practices true journalism any more. I am beyond sick and tired of lies and disinformation.

My last fill was $2.80/gallon.

2500 X $2.80 = $7000.

I said it wouldn’t last a week... assuming he ran everything which this idiot would.

I’ve had whole house propane a 14k gen for 18 years on one home (sold) and an 18k on the current home and had 500 gallon propane tanks on each. First was 2400 sq feet current is 1500 so I know what they use when powers out for a week.

Obama’s home is a 6,892-square-foot home, seven bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms and vaulted ceilings. If you did a whole house gen it would be probably around 38 - 40kw.

Depends upon load but a 100-pound tank can run a 7-kilowatt generator for 66 hours or a 12-kilowatt generator for 36 hours.

This idiot would want everything running as I said but even at 24kw his 2500 gallon tank... 80% fill is max 20 2000 gallons it would last maybe 15 days.

Agree and my whole house generator I don’t use heat or A/C just the essentials.

But think about this elitist liberal POS.. he’d want everything running 24/7. It’s their nature.
