Happy will remember everything they did to TRY free him.
elephants never forget.
If happy was a donkey he’d probably get a favorable decision from the court but in NY no elephant has a chance.
I propose setting Happy free in the front yard of one of the dissenting judges where she can be at liberty to decide how she wants to live her life.
That would be super...thanks for asking!
Exactly. Just as soon as she can PERSONALLY petition for her liberty, it should be granted.
Haha. That made me laugh.
I wonder if anyone asked Happy what she wanted? Has she reached out to the court to "petition for her liberty"?
“We should recognize Happy’s right to petition for her liberty not just because she is a wild animal who is not meant to be caged and displayed, but because the rights we confer on others define who we are as a society,” Judge Rowan Wilson wrote.”
Okay. Then give Happy a pen and paper and have her request another hearing.
Still, two of the seven-judge panel disagreed with DiFiore’s opinion, finding that Happy should have the right to petition for her freedom.
IOW, two of the seven-judge panel are unfit for the bench and for the practice of law.
Snowball's chance in hell those 2 recognize a preborn person as a person.
[[The 5-2 decision]]
So there are two idiots on the board? How the heck did they find the ANIMAL was human? Those two should step down for incompetence-
Do this for the Jan 6 political prisoners of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.
Did you actually read the law behind that decision? I did. The Court decided correctly. The problem in that case lies with the legislature. They didn't define "insects" at all, but defined "fish" so broadly as to render the term almost meaningless. Under the legislature's definition ANY INVERTEBRATE is defined as being a "fish". Guess what? Bees are invertebrates. QED.
Legislators who pass laws on subjects of which they have zero understanding are the bane of The Republic.
They keep trying, and one day an idiot judge declares that an animal is a person and then they sue for reparations to cows for taking their milk and making burgers out of them.
But an unborn baby is legally not a person.
The same judges who think that Happy the elephant should be considered a “person” and freed would rule that an unborn human being is not a “person.”
Sick twisted freaks!
No kidding.
Drunk driving? In a Mini Cooper perhaps?
Ridiculous-exactly where and in what environment did these idiots propose to release this animal that has been dependent on humans for protection, food, care and attention/affection for several decades? That elephant would not last a month if returned to her natural habitat-she isn’t used to getting her own food, has never seen a poacher or a tiger or any other danger.
Putting an animal out in the wild that is acclimated to humans is certain death-that is why sanctuaries minimize human imprinting on wild animals they rescue that are fit enough to be released and survive back in the wild-these animal “rights” activists are anything but...
If a 50 year old elephant won its liberty in New York, what exactly would that look like?
Could an elephant survive in New York if it was homeless?
If the court required that the former owner provide u
Support for the animal after its release. Would not that amount to the same thing, a captive elephant?
Would the court rule that the elephant be returned to the wild?
If an elephant raised in captivity is returned to the wild it does not know how to survive and its chances of being accepted by a wild herd is slim.
In simple terms the entire idea of an elephant raised in captivity being returned to the wild is foolish non-sense.
Yup Happy would be lion food back in Africa
Or what was the plan if they won the case? let her go in Central Park?
These PETA types lack critical thinking skills, move Happy to a conservative area Zoo and put the defense team and two Yudges in her cage where the rest of Nu Yawk will be safe from them!
