After 3 Ukrainian oblasts were seized by clandestine Russian military action. They are still parts of Ukraine and could have freely participated in those election if they had not been prevented by the Russians.
In any case, the present government in Kyiv cannot be called one that was imposed by a coup rather than by democratic elections.
Every liberal is the US is rooting for Ukraine. I wonder why?

What you apparently do not understand is that this is not a zero-sum game. Anti-Zelensky comments do not automatically equal pro-Putin comments. People criticizing Zelensky are not praising Putin.
It is possible, you know, that there are no good guys in this fight. Only a bad guy and a worst guy. Right now we are supporting the bad guy in order to stick it to the worst guy and deter further aggression on his part.
But that does not make the first guy a good guy.
