As I’ve discussed with some of you offline: What’s going to be different with a second Trump term?
Unless he’s ready to take “very serious” (let your imagination run wild) steps to destroy all traitors, what’s the point? More screaming? More cities being burned? More witch hunt investigations?
Even finding a reliable VP is a challenge.
Desantis at least starts off without the above.
“What’s going to be different with a second Trump term?”
For one thing, I hope he doesn’t listen to one piece of advice from Javanka. Isn’t that the reason he got rid of Bannon? IIRC, Javanka is the reason he hired some terrible people.
He has endorsed some bad candidates very recently, and that discernment issue worries me.
Still, he’s better than anyone else at this point in time. DeSantis could be better overall but might not be able to win.
Trump’s problem in a second term will be the same as the first term but worse.
He lacks the know how and especially the will to fight the enemies that are intent on destroying him. It will be Deja Vue all over again but worse. He simply can not and does not fight. He can’t sanction his political enemies so he simply does nothing
“He simply can not and does not fight”
I used to Wonder why he had so many rallies when he should’ve been fighting.
But he picks fights with people who he shouldn’t. Elon Musk could be a strong ally but he denigrates Mush publicly. What’s up with that?
Musk recently said he’s leaning Republican and specifically towards DeSantis, which is probably why Trump brought his name up.
Now Musk gets free media attention for responding...rinse and repeat.
I have considered your question before and have decided the answer is jealousy or something akin. It might just be salesmanship, sellling the Trump brand
For many years, there was an ongoing situation, relationship, between Forbes and Trump. Trump would send them notes indicating that as one of the Forbes 400, his worth was understated. He would argue that Forbes allegations about ownership of specific properties was not only wrong but vastly understated. In general Trump was arguing a point that was moot because the 400 list was published and could not be changed.
Forbes was perhaps a trifle harsh in Trump’s treatment and ignored his entreaties except for making his discontent known. It seemed like a game both were playing with no consideration for the unlikely fact Trump would be President in ten or twelve years.
This ongoing situation was described in detail in the Forbes 100th anniversary issue in 2017 when Donald Trump was President. Over half of that anniversary issue is devoted to brief thoughts of many, many truly great American business men/women. They are allowed to provide a smidgeon of their collective wisdom. I have read these words from such a distinguished group of Americans many times. Trump and Musk are both included and provide their thoughts. Both are given very fair treatment in that section of the anniversary issue
Bottom line, Trump longed for the treatment and adulation that Elon Musk has garnered. He didn’t get it and was in fact the but of countless TV program jokes. Rallys serve several purposes, but one is surely the opportunity for him to bask in the pouring forth of massive, real, adulation.
I am a solid Trump supporter and wish him well. I worry though about Teddy Roosevelt. He was perhaps the most loved of all the American Presidents and when he lost, ran as a third party and lost.
That is, massive adulation is not necessarily a guarantee of electability
(sorry for the length but I wanted to tell the story)
“I ... have decided the answer is jealousy or something akin”
That’s my take on it, too. Those who came down hard on Trump — Romney, etc. — were jealous of him. He’s not immune. Nobody is.
Agreed. Finding AMERICANS to be in his administration is going to be tough.
He was robbed. We were robbed. Now, what’s he going to do about it?
The 1/6 prisoners are one of the greatest injustices to ever befall our great country.
