The good news was no kids died in “hot cars” because nobody parked with the windows up.
If we seceded maybe we could finish the wall and post the Army on top with real ammo.
Texas has 14 coal fired plants up and running.
Texas has 14 coal plants running and shut down six over the past 4 or 5 years. Most plants are being converted to natural gas because it's far less expensive.

Start it at 9:40 to see Hungary’s simple solution for a border wall.
You can cut your map off at the Oklahoma/Arkansas border. I’m not saying that the rest of your red states wouldn’t secede, I just don’t see why we would want to hitch our wagon to Texas and the rest of the south. We would do much better on our own.
As long as you can keep your power on, which apparently is problematic at best.
I’m in Missouri.
It also does good at protecting my house from dirty power ("dirty" as in the sine wave being a bit distorted when either the power plants are producing a hair more than they were designed, or if someone on the grid "above" me is drawing a lot of power). Basically, I set my inverter to start drawing power from the grid whenever my batteries' charge level is 30% or lower (this is because my 19-year warranty for the batteries assumes I won't let the SOC get below 20%). If my inverter detects dirty power on the grid it'll quit pulling power from the grid for a few seconds and pull power from the batteries (even if SOC is at 30% it's got some margin of safety before getting to 20%). That gives my appliances clean power to help them last longer, especially with appliances today not being as sturdy as they used to be.
Some people have an inverter and battery storage without having solar or wind as power sources. Why? Because they want steady power even if they live in 3rd world countries like California where blackouts are common. When the power is up they charge the batteries and when the grid goes down they use battery power. Like mine, when their house is running on battery power in emergency mode they can't power their whole house (an automatic transfer within the inverter powers only the circuits on the critical load panel, when grid power is up both the critical load panel and normal panel are powered). When my solar upgrade is done, my inverters will put out 16kW even when in emergency mode (assuming I have power either from the solar panels or the batteries or both).
Kind of handy to have shipping ports and not be landlocked. Texas has oil too.
As am I. And if we're going to secede then I'd rather join up with the red states to the north of us than the red states to the south. We don't need them to for a successful, independent nation on our own. I don't see any benefits to it.
Why? Plenty of prosperous, land-locked countries out there: Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and others. If we want something we can continue to import it through the east, west or gulf coasts. It won't involve any more cost than it does right now. As for oil, Texas has it. Texas sells it. We can buy it, again at no additional costs than we have right now.
"Texas Competitive Power Advocates"
Is Texas having power plants being built to prevent the problems of not enough power?
I wasn’t aware that Texas power plants did sometimes stop.
This smells of fear porn.
And yet, we’re being strongly advised to buy electric vehicles that will put an even greater strain on the electric grid. Dems are dumb all right.
Right now, at the time of my posting, the grid is operating normally with plenty of juice for demand.
