AOC-that pic of her working at the bar. Working in 2c directions. I can see why she stole from the tip jar.

A man I knew owned a Trucking Company.
He was a World War 1 veteran.
The Teamsters threatened to organize his drivers.
The owner asked the drivers to compare wages, working conditions etc, with a Teamster company.
He warned them that organizing would cause him to close.
They voted to have the Teamsters represent them.
He closed the doors, sold the trucks and retired. 70 drivers were on the street.
End of story.
I love a story with a happy ending!

Exactly. I had food poisoning more than once from Chipotle food.

````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
More than once? Once bitten, twice shy.
I was poisoned, along with my wife and toddler by Wendy’s in Tennessee in 1975 I haven’t been in another one since. We spent 40 hours in the hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. puking, dehydrated etc.
Wendy’s was pinpointed as the culprit by the fact that my older son (age 4) inexplicably, refused to eat anything when we stopped there while traveling. He was the only one of us who didn’t get sick.
Sunset is such a shythole now. I used to live in Hollywood in the 70s and early 80s and it was a pleasant walk down Sunset. Now on Sunset you are surrounded by worse people than homeless. Much worse. I had the unfortunate need to visit family there a couple of years ago. Iron bars on the windows everywhere. Homeless puking on the sidewalks. It’s foolish to go there without carrying... but it’s not allowed.
F*** Sunset. F*** LA. F*** Kalifornia.
Lol. I met a guy back in the 80s who was a fired Air Traffic Controller. He just bytched and bytched about Reagan. I said to him once, “Reagan promised to fire you if you struck. Why did you do it? Did you think Reagan would chicken out?”
He said that the union promised them the Reagan would negotiate.
The ATCs got fired. But the union officials who told them to strike later sued and got their govt jobs back. F*** unions.
Many years ago I was a number cruncher for a conglomerate that owned a bunch of fast food and mid-range restaurants.
We had huge spreadsheets with tons of data on each restaurant, and periodically did data sorts and presented the sorted data to the bosses where positive net profit numbers were in green and negative net profit numbers were in red.
If they saw red ink they started closing those restaurants.
Easy Peasy.
40 years ago, I worked at a national chain restaurant as a manager. Their policy was to close any store that would TRY unionizing. I recall one store closing in Illinios because of this. As far as I know, they don't have a union to this day.
I get hit with a food triggered gastroparesis about 3 times each year. If I permanently crossed off every business that triggered it my options would be down to 3. Undercooked chicken and gluten have both been a cause. Most bouts of gastroparesis last 10 to 12 hours. Just one in 2022 thus far.
Ah, but now they are eligible for unemployment, wic, & food stamps. For someone previously earning restaurant wages, welfare is probably a good deal.
Put enough pintos and black beans in it and it will be explosive.
Unions are corrupt & evil...and typically run & controlled by communists.
I don’t get Chipotle. There’s one in Albuquerque and it’s crowded. But you can find infinitely better New Mexican food at a hundred little places. Best I ever had was in a bowling alley.
That’s how you get automated drive through and robotic cooks. They don’t call in sick or go on strike.
Worked for a union meat packing company in Schuyler, Nebraska. Company asked for a $2 an hour cut across the board. Union advised members to vote against it stating the company was bluffing. Union rejected it, company closed the plant for 2-3 years to break the contract and hired back the same people for $4-6 an hour cheaper. Now it’s mostly a community of illegal aliens.
Clearly, you’ve never worked in the food business. Indeed, have you ever worked at all?
Last real genuine Mexican food I had was 12-14 years ago in a humble little place that has not been there for 8 years. I had 4 tacos and the pico de gallo was fresh and delicious.
Hmmmmmmm.... If I only had a time machine....
