https://thehill.com/homenews/house/3573901-new-house-security-program-to-provide-members-10k-to-safeguard-their-homes/

Each member is getting $10,000 taxpayer dollars for their private home security and we get their middle finger.

They know it’s unconstitutional.

They also know it'll never pass the senate. And they don't want it to.

The Supreme Court kicked back a number of gun bans to the lower courts for review in light of their 6-3 New York ruling. SCOTUS' way of saying, "You can handle this at your level or we'll handle it at ours."

The last thing the Democrats want is a SCOTUS ruling that strikes down "assault weapon" bans in the many states that have already enacted them.

This is nothing more than throwing a bone to their base, saying "We tried to do something." Much like when the GOP passed various Obamacare repeals that they knew would get vetoed. It's all theater.

There are conditions in the bill regulating ownership of the firearms, though, if I remember correctly. Is there language mandating that the firearms be locked up and more dictating that all sales go through dealers with background checks?

Forget the transfer unless it is a relative because you died. And any sale will be illegal unless you are a dealer selling to a dealer. So, I’d transfer weapons ownership to the offspring now, even though you are keeping it. Haven’t read about gun safes yet. I have a gun safe. Got to keep them liberal kids from stealing my guns and shooting little kids. I mean, who the frack goes into a school and kills children? This is a youth crime. Youth raised on beliefs that we have no absolutes and no morals. Without morality, you have chaos. This is what the Left has brought to the US, Chaos.

... to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited...

Sounds like infringement.

[[So do the millions who own those “assault weapons” now have to get rid of them?]]

No they can keep them- they will just be felons from now on- but the great news is that to democrats, felons are above the law- just change your party affiliation to democrat, and you’ll be golden- they will never arrest you for having an ‘illegal weapon’

IF they are gonna take citizen’s inalienable, God given right to self defense away- then the government needs to provide 24/7 security officers to protect each of us! Armed to the teeth, and trained in crisis situations-

That is my feeling too- but let’s hope it is right-

I have a home in a 2A sanctuary state.

They can go pound sand up their butts.

That doesn’t matter. Seriously, old pre-ban stuff will be legal, it’ll only matter for new ones.

Why don’t people understand this? It’s a nightmare and nothing you can own, do, or talk about will matter. Once this is passed, it’s over.

Just waiting for a school shooting this week to make it ensured by Friday.

Leftism goes by the disaster. If not now, when they reconvene.

Boy some of you guys are awful fond of curling up into a fetal position and crying. Put on your big boy pants and stand tall.

This is nothing less than a declaration of war by the US government against the citizens of the United States. If this passes the Senate and stands in the Supreme Court (or if they refuse to hear it as happens much more often these days), it represents the shredding of the final protections we are afforded under the Constitution and the last death-rattle of the Republic.

They need 10 Republicans. “

Mitch and the boys were just humiliated by the 800 Billion Manchin sting. I doubt they are in a mood to allow 10 cross overs for this turd.
