so a referendum?!
I wonder how many people knew that question was even in there? I bet the baby killing democrats sneaked that question in there at the last minute with no fanfare. In any case it’s still a State issue and not a federal issue. If the issue’s to be decided, that’s the proper place for it.
well, at least the people got a vote this time and were not dictated to by unelected judges.
At least the states are getting to decide. That’s the way it should’ve been all along. Too bad they chose poorly.
Who cares. We have to win this midterm election and the SC just screwed us. Why overturn Roe v Wade in an election year? I hope you can now see that there is no red wave coming. WA senate primary has Murray leading by 23 pts. The gap was only 5 before the overturn.
I’ll never understand the mindset of people who think killing babies in the womb is something less than murder.
I would guarantee you these same people would be screaming at the top of their lungs if say, puppies were being aborted.
They have no regard for human life.
A ‘boon’ for Kansan economy as the morally bankrupt from surrounding states travel there to rid themselves of their‘little problems’
“They choose death”
I’ll bet that half of those voters thought they were voting for the exact opposite.
The ballot verbiage on that race was (purposely) bafflegab. FReeper LS said he has a PhD and it confused him. Dr. Gina Loudon said she didn’t understand it. Hubby is PhD and I asked him if he understood what it meant; he didn’t.
The issue needs a do-over.
Realistically, Kansas abortion law is fairly restrictive right now, allowing unrestricted abortion only up to 20 weeks.
We’ve gotten Roe overturned, bringing the matter to individual states and their voters, and now we are finding out what level of popular support exists for further restricting abortion.
I think it will be a hard slog to get things down lower than 20 weeks.
I’m so disgusted with my home state.
This state is cursed.
Actually, Kansas is more of a bellweather than people think, as it is the image of the power of ‘wokeism’ at work. Good ol’ friendly midwest people that want to get along just keep compromising and rationalizing and ‘live and let live’ in the face of immoral anti-authoritarians.
Kansas truly is a stain on the face of the nation, and will suffer for it.
Righ now at 8:006am, with 96% in it’s 41.2% YES, 58.8% NO. Either way, we lost.
Was it one of those trick questions for the stupid ?
One would think a red state would enthusiastically support a ban on abortions, but Kansas, home of pro-abort former governor Kathleen Sebelius and the notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller, is a bit of a special case.
But... this is what the overturning of Roe V. Wade comes to... leaving the matter to the individual states.
I have nothing but utter contempt for the college generation...spit.
Abortion was legal in Kansas at least since 1970. Apparently it is currently restricted to before 20 weeks.
How many “ballots” were received from California?
Just do like the left. Try again next election cycle. and the next. and the next.
Are the election-shifters going to use this issue as a tolerable excuse to pump more “absenteed” ballot-faskes into the counting scanners? Thus ballooning never-trumper and leftist contenders into the slots?
