It is well known that Mackey is a libertarian. Why do you think he's giving an interview to Reason? Sheesh, the general level of simple ignorance around here is sometimes breathtaking.
This is like a marine biologist teaching how dangerous sharks are and then when he goes in the ocean and gets bit by one he’s surprised......and this guy is a CEO?
SMH
It took him 68 years. I would bet that Whole Foods internal operations and policies helped implement some of the things about which he now complains while under his watch.
Isn’t Whole Foods now Amazon?
“Exiting”
Parting shot. He’d have been gone tomorrow after that otherwise (bezos).
The goal of socialism is communism - V.I.L.
Looks like he contributed to Republicans:

Doesn't want to work for wages you want them to work for. It's easy to be against the Socialists on $15 million a year. When the Socialists want a few more bucks an hour then suddenly all the cliches come out. Gotta keep the barbarians away from the gates.
Mackey promised that the interview was only a teaser of what was to come, saying that his role leading such a giant corporation left him “intimidated enough to shut up.”
“Pretty soon, you’re gonna hear about ‘Crazy John’ who’s no longer muzzled,” he said, laughing when asked if his main future plan was to embarrass the company he spent 44 years growing.
“I’ve got six weeks. I can talk more about politics in six weeks than I can today,” he told Reason’s editor at large, Nick Gillespie.
A real capitalist. A real lover of individual freedom.
Look at to whom he sold out.
In reality he sold to the devil because that was where he could get the most money.
Hypocrite.

Correction...
“They’ve marched through the institutions — they’ve taken everything over,”
I can’t think of a single institution they don’t control. They’ve even taken over some of the most traditionally conservative bodies such as sports, the military and now even religion.
I guess the Utopia he undoubtly promoted and voted for most of his life didn’t turn out to be what he expected.
The elite socialists will learn once their gated community becomes where to go to shop.
No! What was your first clue?
Who and what did he vote for over the past 40 years?
You be wrong.
you nailed it
