Most Republicans are socialists too.
“In name only” implies a betrayal of principle; Democrats (by and large) have little or no interest in principles - they’re all about power. As long as a ‘D’ helps keep them in power, that person is okay - once such an individual becomes a liability to the maintenance of power (see, for example, Rod Blogojevich in Illinois) then that person can be tossed under the boss - indeed, must be so treated.
Meanwhile in AZ the RINOs are suing to try to get the primary winners kicked off the ballot. I guess in the name of solidarity or something.
The leadership is. Anyone content with the status quo probably is at least fascist (socialism with a veneer of capitalism to exploit as needed).
Although the Jan. 6 committee has been unable to show that Donald Trump was directly responsible for the attack on the Capitol, they have come close enough to make it a serious question....The committee showed that Mr. Trump was told point blank, by many senior members of his administration who had investigated each of his claims, that his charges were false. Sadly, the fact that he could not accept the reality of his loss clearly shows that he puts his own interests ahead of the country’s. No Republican should accept this.
No. You hate the term because you are part of the RINO establishment. RINO accurately depicts the fact that you and those of your ilk say the right things on the campaign trail and then once you get into office you do absolutely nothing to implement any of what you claimed you stood for.
Democrats don’t have DINOs because they are a whole helluva lot more ruthless about enforcing discipline on party members. That might be the one admirable thing about the Democrat Party.
Democrats have “omerta”.
They should purge them all so there would be a level playing field.
There are, for the most part, two types of Dems:
Revolutionary socialists and Fabian socialists (“make haste, slowly”).
So called moderate Dems fall in behind chuck and Nancy nearly 100% when they vote.
“Most Republicans are socialists too.”
Bull. Then get off this website if we are all socialists. Geez.
The difference is that the Democrats DO NOT elect leaders who DESPISE their voting base.
When (and if) the Republicans elect leaders representative of their voting base, we’ll hear a lot less RINO talk.
The letter after the name means jack anymore.
The only reason political parties still exist is to give voters the illusion of choice.
A pol is either loyal to our former republic or to Deep State.
Period.
Point is they get things done. Republicans got one crap bill done under trump. The tax bill which they couldn’t get that right as they put a sunset provision on the middle class taxes for 2026 while leaving the rich tax cuts permanent. Republicans suck at getting things done and it’s because they don’t work together. Instead they put their feet in the ground and pout.
They way they vote is generally more unified than repubs. That’s why repub VOTERS use the term RINO. The party members use it very little. Maybe a little more this year as we work to replace some RINOs.
What is a blue dog?
Typical out of touch National Review. They say DINO all the time on their discussion boards. Some quick searching would have shown the writer that.
You’ve never heard the term blue dog democrat???
You must not have lived or paid attention to politics in the 80s
A blue dog democrat tended to vote fiscally conservative when in congress. Would campaign like any standard dem but sided with republicans a bunch
No, I didn’t pay attention to politics in the ‘80s.
The National review has become a RINO magazine
