Make no mistake, the rest of the country is going to be forced to pay for upgrades and new structures for Califs power grid in the coming years.

Democrats and RINOs stole the election of 2020 to force red states to bail out failed blue cities and states. These blue states are in a race to the bottom to get the red state money first before they all suck them dry.

They'll find enough ignorant leftist cultists to help them bring the place to ruins. It's eerily similar to the Xhosa Cattle Killings of 1856:

This is what it said for peak solar hours for my location:

Month: Peak Sun Hours
Jan: 3.43
Feb: 4.31
Mar: 4.85
Apr: 5.24
May: 5.01
Jun: 4.96
Jul: 5.41
Aug: 5.41
Sep: 5.11
Oct: 4.14
Nov: 3.25
Dec: 3.2

How do I interpret it?

Here's how to read that. I'll use January for an example.

If you have a 330 watt panel, then on a sunny day in January you can expect the panel to produce 1.13kWh's per day. I get that by saying 330 watts = 0.33 kW. Multiply that by the # of peak solar hours in January and it's 0.33 X 3.43 = 1.1319kWh. Twenty 330W panels would give you 22.6kWh of power per day in January. That's how you apply it.

Here's how it works: This doesn't mean you get only 3.43 hours of sunlight in January. A solar panel's wattage rating assumes peak time (high noon). So an hour of sun in the early morning and an hour in the late afternoon hours mean something to solar production, but not as much as an hour at noon. Peak solar hours is a co-efficient to multiply the wattage of the panel to give you a day's throughput in total watt/hours (divide by 1,000 to get kilowatt/hours, or kWh).

If you add up the total watts of all of my solar panels it comes out to 20,800 watts (20.8 kW). Multiply that by 3.9 (my area's peak solar hours for January) and I expect to get 81 kWh per sunny day in January (this is after my recent upgrade, which I didn't have last winter). Last January I had only 9 days in which I needed more than that much power, with only 1 day being over 100 kWh (101). That tells me that even during the worst part of the year (winter) it'll probably provide about 70% of all the power I need (I calculated that by keeping in mind that there are cloudy and rainy days in January, but those are low power consumption days because those are mild temperature days so it doesn't hurt me financially too much to lose the battle on those days).

Just wait until everyone is forced to have an EV, there will be some kind of rationing, like you will only be allowed to charge your car during certain hours...

Don't worry.

California will be more than happy to sell you an EV charging permit, which will reserve your charging period. Just be sure to sign up early to get the best time slots.

“That is unless you have a sun tracking array mounted on a swiveling pole.”

Since my solar panels are mounted on the roof I built the entire house on a Lazy Susan to follow the sun. True, the motor to do this is diesel powered.

FTA: and hold off on charging their electric vehicles, all during the 4-9 p.m. time frame.

The very time those getting home from work need to charge the electric car to get to work the next day!

Employee new excuse: I cannot get to work as I am not allowed to charge my electric car during the high temps we are having.

Work: We have high temps in the summer since time began. Did California democrats plan anything right?!

Employee: I would buy a gas car but no one wants to buy my used electric car plus the gas car prices are way over price now due to the obama/biden Cash for Cars that destroyed millions of perfectly good cars.

Work: If you cannot get to work then we will have to let you go for someone who owns a gas powered car.

#79 I search and found this: actor Larry Hagman installed a 94-kilowatt, $750,000 solar photovoltaic array on his home in Ojai, California

Reportedly, this cut his electricity bill from $37,000/year to $13/year.

It would take him 20 years to break even.....
The panels would not last that long so figure in replacement costs. Plus none of it works at night and not very well on a cloudy day.
