6 inches in about 12 hours time. It was mighty soupy when I went to bed. The farm is on a slight slope with a hill along one side. Lots of water running across. Hubby dug ditches to catch water coming off the hill and direct it around the house so no worries about it getting flooded. Those ditches were running full.
There are a couple of other ditches to direct water past outbuildings.
I haven’t been anywhere today but know which areas are prone to major ponding. I’d say there are a lot of little lakes around the county.
At least the rain we’ll get overnight will be light. no heavy rain or storms on the radar. Whew!
The American Veterans Center is a very interesting website for those who love military history.

Here’s an awesome story to enjoy!
P-51 Ace Shoots Down an ME-262, Becomes a POW, then Joins the Russians to Fight the Nazi’s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwzUo9FrDnI
Col. Joseph Peterburs was an ‘Ace’ pilot of 49 missions & 269 combat hours flying the P-51 during the Second World War. On April 10, 1945, he shot down the famed German ‘ace’ Walter Schuck, flying the ME-262, the first German jet flown in combat. Shortly after, he was shot down & taken prisoner, before escaping & joining up with the Russian Red Army, fighting with them at the Battle of Jitterbug & Wittenberg. He would go on to serve in Korea & Vietnam.
Maybe the clouds will break up more over your part of town soon and give you some sunshine. Still a lot of clouds but there’s a big open area that will possibly expand. It’s sunny at the airport and the Chugachs are in the sun north of town. They’re still pretty shady over your way. You need some sunshine too.
Peaches is so cute! 😻
I’d love to rub that kitty-belly, but I know that can be dangerous.
Yes! That WHAT! face. LOL! Jasper is a cutie!
That’s a darling shot of Shadow. Look at that face. “Please, Mommy, PLEASE skritch my tummy. NOW!”
Jasper is a MESS. He was such a butthead and bully to the other cats when he first showed up that I almost tossed him back out. But he has so much personality and is so sweet that I kept giving him chances. He’s mellowed out now and he’s trying to buddy up to the others but most are still afraid of him. I find him snuggled up sleeping with a few so they’re coming around.
I’m glad I kept giving him chances. He really is a sweet cat and funny too.
And while I was out there, I noticed that there are 4 more bushes.
Beautiful labor Day prayer, lightman...thank you.
No relaxation at all. Worked both days and tomorrow a customer is coming to pick up the mixer we had to finish.
Pickup date was set long before mixer was done so had no choice.
I’ve had no summer break and it’s over now. And all I want to do is retire.
YIKES!!! Those are some SERIOUS stickers!!
Four more bushes. Just what you wanted to find. :-(
Feast or famine!!
We have had some sun thru the clouds...and no rain. WOOHOO!! We needed a break, but they say more is coming. Still not complaining because I hate the alternative.
Peaches...what a ham, and too cute!
“You woke me up for what?”
Will the mixer be living in-state, or going somewhere else?
You MUST make sure your body gets at least a break when needed.
Hope your retirement plans are on track.
They showed a rain map with rain totals on the weather report tonight and our “feast” covered only a small part of the county. We just happened to be in it. South and east, towards and into the mountains, got a lot less.
It was the same a c ross the state. A few small areas for 5 to 7 inches while everyone else got less. It was a weird day and night.
That’s exactly how he looks. LOL! He just loves it. He’s the only one who will allow it. But Midnight has decided that back scritches are pretty all right...right before dinner. :)
