I appreciate your well insightful response. And I agree.

Very few leaders who are elected or appointed turn out to be the wise, honest people we look for. President Trump was the closest that I have seen in the past 35 years.

While I think he was right in his assessment of America’s situation (in his lifetime), I haven’t heard of anyone calling him any slurs or names over here in Germany.

I might be wrong, but it seems that he played too little a role in European history.

Even when the first European powers formally acknowledged the independence of the US from Britain in 1783 and 1784 (Britain and Prussia, respectively), Washington had not yet been President. After all, before 1789, the Presidents of the Continental Congress were the transitory Heads of State of the young republic (unless I’m very wrong).

These days, they see him as a Slave owner first and foremost. Hell, they have changed the names of high-schools he was named after.

He was right to stay out of Europe. They don’t appreciate our help or opinions. And perhaps, their issues are none of our business.

Unlike SOME countries I know who are selling off their reserves.

Anything to cripple the giant...

Forgive me, when I say “they”, I mean American leftists; not sensible Europeans.

VIDEO: Trump went to the UN and called out countries for relying on Russian energy

The German delegation was caught on camera laughing at him for saying it

Maybe shutting down the coal power plants was a bad idea.

Yes, maybe.

But where in Europe has a school been named after George Washington and changed its name?

Sorry for not having expressed myself clearly enough, but I only have heard of such an occurrence in the USA. Which is really depressing, isn’t it? :-(

Nowadays, this neo-Bolshevist (oh sorry, they call themselves “liberal”) iconoclasm is all the rage.

However, woe betide you if you criticize one of their number or the monuments erected in their honor, such as the Germanophobic racialist POS Jean-Jacques Waltz aka Hansi in Alsace!

The same could be said for us and China.

Thank you very much for your words, but this was what I had already been concluding :-)

It is such a horror. Still, one day the Bolshevik statues might come off their plinths as well. Nobody knowes where it all will end.

Hello my Friend. Sorry if I have offended. No, I have no evidence that Germany disgraced President Washington

I been there many times from 2001 to 2004 when I had German Girlfriend.

America disgraces their founding fathers.

Even England seems to give Washington a lot of respect. Despite, the defeat. They love winners.

From what I gathered, you live in Germany, and/or from it.

But I am talking about the dumbasses in the USA. Sorry if I am off subject.

Sean Davis [The Federalist]:

In one of the dumbest geopolitical moves in history, Europe outsourced its energy industry to Russia, laughed at everyone who said that was moronic, and then proceeded to wage a proxy war against the country that now has a monopoly on the continent’s gas and electricity. What did you idiots think was going to happen? My word.

Quote Tweet / The Associated Press

Russian energy giant Gazprom says it can't resume the supply of natural gas through a key pipeline to Germany because of technical problems. German officials have called Russia’s previous reductions through Nord Stream 1 a political power play.

Don’t worry at all :-)

No offense felt, no offense intended on my part :-D

And thank you for your kind words about my hapless country. That is a balm on my heart :-)

And I agree with you: the “powers that be” in America are desecrating the memory of great men as GW, or the Founding Fathers, or General Lee.

I really choked back tears when I saw his statue in Charlottesville VA being destroyed and some nasty people even cheering this outrage: that really “hit home” with me, since I lived there for a while and really loved it.

Are you living in an evil fantasy land where you are content to allow old people face a choice between freezing or starving?

There is no choice of freezing and starving... except in your fantasy land.

I can’t think of someone more useless than a person who has the tagline (EnemiesForeignAndDomestic.com) and sides with KGB Putin - LOL!

It appears that Germany has six still functioning nuclear power plants. It would be better for them to spend that fictitious money on a few new plants and upgrading the existing units. After all the existing units are going to be running at 105% this winter.
