Let ‘em go...
Goes across the board. Why the left loves fatherless homes. Get to stick their own contrived authority in its place. Goes for schooling too. All of your children belong to us. We are the authority… we will tell you when it’s acceptable to loot.. or to kneel.
Interesting argument. Clearly this guy hasn’t given up his asinine leftist belief but just as clearly he’s felt and responded to a hell of a lot of pressure from the Right.
“Shut the whole basketball program down.”
NCAA college basketball and football is simply a farm system for the NBA and NFL. The way to restore college athletics is to do the following:
1) End athletic scholarships and special admissions standards for athletes. All students applying to the college should meet the academic standards required for admission. Athletic capability should not be a consideration in college admissions.
2) Return to varsity and junior varsity team sports where any student who is admitted to the college can tryout for a JV team. After a year on the JV team, students athletes, who have the ability, can move up to the varsity team.
3) If games are televised or broadcast on the radio, all income from the games must be put into the general scholarship fund to benefit all students.
4) Any student who joins an athletic team cannot be recruited by a professional team, or accept an offer to play by a professional team, until after graduation.
The NFL and NBA can recruit students who cannot meet college admission standards directly from high school graduates. They can also recruit college athletes who have competed their academic program. In addition, the NFL and NBA can set up their own minor league farm system like major league baseball.
College athletics should put academics first, not professional athletics.
NBA is starting to draft more players from the Euro Leagues, rather than from US colleges.
It’s gotten to the point that basketball, football, heck even baseball.....who cares. I don’t watch any of them anymore. There’s hundreds of other things people should do to improve their mind, body and souls. Organized sports, other than for youth, doesn’t seem to do much for society as a whole, other than being entertainment, and becoming more expensive every year. Read a book, go to a museum or concert, ride a bike, take a hike, view a classic movie, etc. for Chrissake.
Stand firm and strong Mr college president!
“ message because of their perspective regarding the flag. No individual’s sincere motives are inherently wrong.”
Yes they are, wimp. No one from rush to this guy and nor Roger Goddard whatever his name is has once asked any one of these ignoramuses what they’re kneeling for
Just impel them to explain what exactly about the flag represents oppression
They can’t. Because it doesn’t. The flag represents the constitution. The constitution is against oppression
This Dean is as stupid as they are. As idiotic asvany pundit that has never asked the question
They are absolutely inherently wrong.
HOORAY FOR HIM
IF you are here on an athletic scholarship—pay your own tuition, also.
yes
especially when it is posted on the world wide web
Perfectly stated.
My kids and grand children will not be attending ANY university that allows this BS to go on. Oh, and they will not be attending ANY school that states that math is racist and there is no need to get the correct answer.
My grandson changed schools when he was told that any answer he came up with was okay if he believed he solved it correctly.
Let’s see, all black team. Something doesn’t feel just right about the “equiality” of that but I can’t put my finger on it.
Dolts. Kids with minds full of mush just like always.
I remember how they complained that they even allowed one white guy to be on the US Olympic team the last time around.
Your source , frankly, sucks. They call themselves 24 News but this story is from MARCH 2021, nearly a year and a half ago. A simple google search would have discovered that in less than one minute.
Sites that just take take old news articles, rehash them and post them years later without any indication of WHEN the story took place are just so much noise and wasted bandwidth.
How much of the educational failures can be traced back to “grading On The Curve”???
When I was a kid—we got graded on the 100% scale.
I graduated HS in 1957-—and didn’t take any night classes until 1969. At the first accounting class, the teacher laid out the rules-—homework==2.5 hours of every classroom hour.
All homework must be turned in on time, must be readable, etc.
One younger student _I was 28 & some were older than I-—asked” Are we going to get graded “On The Curve”???
I had NO IDEA what that meant—student next to me had to explain.,
I was DUMBFOUNDED!!!!
Teacher said “On the Curve”.
Didn’t help the dummies at all-—Kid next to me & I got 98-99-100-99-100 over & over again.
WE became “The Curve” and the lazy/stupid ones in the class hated us.
I didn’t give a damn. I needed to get more accounting education to support myself-—I owned my own house & car & I needed to take care of ME.
Took me 4 years of night classes to take all the Accounting classes I could, but I got 4.0 in every class-—and gave up a social life. Became self-employed in 1980—rounded up my own clients & set my own hours/pay.
Last client (53 years) retired in spring, and when we finish up all his stuff, I have no others—currently-—but I do have a reference pending. I also do computer input for my mobile veterinarian-large animal vet.
I was a “Curve Killer” in School.
Cancel the scholarships and expel the ungrateful players.
It is time to take a look at the college curriculum that teaches students to hate our country. This hate of the USA has been going on for two generations. This deliberate teaching is the basis for insulting our flag.
These ignorant students have no appreciation for the people who made our country great, or the remarkable history of the USA.
