So, you disagree with my position? You would advocate surrender? And, not only surrender, but pre-emptive surrender? I’m surprised; I thought perhaps you were made of sterner stuff. Well, the threat from within is certainly there. But it is not the only threat we face.

Unfortunately, history proves different. History is full of examples where non-aggressive, non-belligerent countries were threatened by a stronger neighbor with the choice between surrender or invasion; and many more examples where the invaded put up a gallant but futile defense, only to end up surrendering. So, you see, one doesn’t have to start a war to find onself IN a war.

Let me explain something to you. When those Airmen went into a establishment and started trouble with the locals they got what they deserved. They either behaved or got what they had coming to them.
You really need to understand that when you come to an area where there are those who will fight at the drop of a hat, you need to tread very carefully.

Oh, I understand that, because I am not an a$$hole; thus, I never provoked a fight, and if trouble looked like it was brewing between some other bargoers, I’d generally finish my beer and go elsewhere. I’m generally a peaceful kind of guy. Though, if a fight came to me, I’d respond.

Every dam Friday night for a while. It was, hey! Lets go to this country bar or that one and tear the son of a bitching place up. They never counted on running into a bunch of us loggers though.
You could tell the airmen who came from the country from the city boys. The country boys got along just fine.
