Not a big fan of this group and no interest in their opinions on anything not related to music.

In a 2015 interview with TMZ, Snider pivoted a conversation about the then-upcoming 2016 election and said why he was okay with President Donald Trump using the song in his election campaign. “Donald Trump is a good friend and a great guy, and I support him turning the political system on its head.
The song ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ is a song about rebellion, and there’s nothing more rebellious than what Donald Trump is doing right now. Although, Bernie Sanders could use it as well. He’s turning things upside down as well,” he said.

He went from: “We’re not gonna take it!” to “Please, sir, may I have another?” What a tool.

You would’ve thought that Trump would be in line with Dee Snider’s line of thinking. Free speech, anti-establishment, pro-American worker...guess that’s great if you’re a Dem, but not for a Republican.

Sister Tipper tried to ban all rock and roll, introduce “warning labels.”
They need a warning label on Algore, the Human Tree. And I don’t mean Groot.

Funny. I thought he wrote that song to rip off one of the big closing numbers in “Tommy” and to pretend that Twister Sister was in the same league with The Who. I’ve always wondered why Townshend didn’t sue for plagiarism.

I don't like playing Queen (We Are the Champions, We Will Rock You) at sports events, and they are at least as queer as whoever did "We're Not Gonna Take It", but those tunes aren't going away.
"Steam" was pretty much a made-up group (long story) whose B-Side "Na-Na-Hey-Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)" also became an anthem.
Few would recommend the Rolling Stones' or Elton John's lifestyle for the general public, and yet "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Tiny Dancer" are played at all Trump rallies.
"You'll Never Walk Alone" is as classy soccer tune as any, written by Rogers/Hammerstein, and was redone by Gerry and the Pacemakers that somehow caught on.
What does it come down to? The songs stand on their own merits for their intended use (catchiness, singability, familiarity, suitability, luck). That's why Rush Limbaugh made the lefty Pretenders a second fortune by using their music for his theme.

Since I was 5 years old I have read constantly. It is an addiction and like breathing to me. In second grade I was reading over 1200 words a minute and taking high school books out of the library.
Sometimes I wonder if a lot of other people around me or those that I read posts from on various platforms are just stupid or maybe they cannot assimilate information and data.
I’ve always assumed most FR people are mega-readers.

“Fascists”? ...That’s the kind of originality and creativity that has helped him create so many hits in the past 40 years. (snark)

Cross dressing? Can someone identify as a cross dresser today? Or is it just using that to highlight what the haters label him/her/it?

half-Jew Interesting ...
Apparently, he thinks we care about that. Very strange ...

Snider appeared before the Senate in 1985 after a pro-censorship group known as the Parental Music Resource Center (PMRC) published a list of problematic bands and tunes that included Twisted Sister. As I recall, the PMRC was bipartisan. Tipper Gore was one of the Democratic woman leading it. Susan Baker, James Bakers wife, was one of the Republican women leading it. There were other women, from both parties.
The conservatives of the day were supportive of the PMRC. It struck me at the time as a half-hearted effort by politicians done not to achieve results, but to earn some conservative street cred for their image.

The Who did ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ quite a few years before.

To: Twotone
Snider realized that by cozying up to the Democrats, he could become the "Taker" and no longer the "taken". He's switched sides for approval from the left. Hardly the first to go down that road.
In any case, he sure has gotten an awful lot of mileage out of that one gimmicky song.
