There is a great deal more attention paid to “climate change”, and “social equity” than to the real problems of running a civil society and clean politics, the latter having become a sort of oxymoron, as the “reformers” have taken over the local political organization, and use it as a means of confrontation, without either civility or compromise.

Parts Asheville are Ultra-Liberal, particularly the downtown business area. I could easily see why Antifa would nest there. But within two miles of the Asheville with pottery shops, craft beers, and boutiques, are vast ghettos of bungalow slums, very poor, and all within the city limits.
So, stop voting for them.

The conversion I was working on was the Federal Courthouse which was near downtown and I would get up early to get to the site early and have breakfast at one of the numerous great restaurants within walking distance to the courthouse
Asheville has always been weird, but now it’s getting sleazy. It was a safe place, it had a visible police presence, a lot of homeless, a lot of bat-shit crazy people and yet it felt safe. We would go to dinner and shows and stay out til midnight, now at 9 pm we’re out of downtown.
Asheville is a very liberal enclave that is getting what it wanted. No sympathy here.
Asheville has sadly been reduced to the status of being nothing more than a colony of Leftist Yankees who have nothing but contempt for the locals, their history and their culture. They are of course steadily ruining the place.
It would be nice if they would confine their cancerous attitudes to NC, but oh, no, they have to move to MY culdesac in TX, and slap thier BETOff sticker on their car.
