I got to poking around the internet and found black and white video of the aftermath of the 1900 Hurricane. Very eerie images. Most of the houses were made of wood and were destroyed.

The reason hurricanes seem more destructive now is population growth.

That's not even the case. The most destructive and the highest death toll hurricane in US history was in 1900, when America had a vastly lower population.
The Galveston Hurricane caused massive destruction and a record death toll. It is easily considered to be the worst storm to hit the United States.

Same reason desert states have issues with water.

It’s either racism or climate change. There go to causes.

In typical narcissistic fashion, Brzezinski only imagines that everything that is occurring now is all that has ever occurred. But the earth has been around for a long, long time. Climate has swung back and forth many times between warming and cooling, long before mankind appeared on earth, and well before man used natural resources at the levels of today.

Uh huh, Don Lemon said much the same. I remember being a kid and seeing the devastation of Camille on the Gulf Coast. We didn’t have Mika or Don to tell us about the climate.

Geesh I despise these goofballs and their programmed talking points.

You missed the point, more people living in the Southern US, especially in places like Florida, many of these people living on the coast, means more houses, more boats, more everything, a bad hurricane hits one of those areas and the damage is going to affect more people.

It doesn’t rule out the hurricane you mentioned but back then there was virtually no warning of an approaching hurricane, the odds are now any hurricane hitting the coastal US is going to be severe versus 100 years ago when a fraction of the people lived in coastal areas.

Galveston 1900. Indianola 1875 and 1886. Largest port in Texas destroyed and was never rebuilt. And so forth.

Weren’t there no substantial hurricanes in Florida from 2005 to 2015? Why is that?
