Naive Westerners who think all races and cultures are the same. I know several expat South Africans who all say the same thing about their feral former countrymen, none of it pretty.

Well, "color" is not quite the correct term. It is more like multi-hued shades of excrement.
One thing I noticed was that while the guest were not the brightest bulbs the audience was disgusting.
Most were young, white, well groomed, seemed to be more or less intelligent and morally vacant.
Cheering and laughing while people exposed their messed up lives for their amusement.
