My grandson did not make the senior year trip.
LOL, solid decision.
I see. They were typical Democrats.
I have to admit, upon first blush, I was thinking:
Why would one go camping in SA?.
And I’m a lot more risk averse the older I get to be totally truthful.
But I read more of both articles and saw that the wife was from there and their business was there. Anyway, you gotta have sympathy for innocents that have that kind of violence visited upon them, no matter if they were tourists or not. Like the two Euro girls that were decapitated several years back while camping in the mountains in some Islamic country. Heck, there have been several cases of British tourists being killed while vacationing in Florida, etc.
The other night, I stumbled upon this horrific story...happened in the 90s in SA. The reprise article is from 2021. The perps were two white men. The lady was disemboweled and near decapitated. She got up from it. Held in her guts and had to basically hold her head on to get to some headlights she saw. Horrific and incredible. Alison Botha is her name.

Anyway, RIP to all innocents great and small. Lots of evil always lurking...looking for a chance.
I feel bad for that elderly couple but they MUST have known the potential risks. That being said, I personally spend a great deal of time outside of “whitelandia” (5 miles from Ferguson during the riots, not to mention through LA during the Rodney King riots) so your assumption is not accurate, as most assumptions are inaccurate.
No, I wasn’t assuming that: THEY were, to their great misfortune.
The Libertarian/atheist cartoonist Peter Bagge made fun of liberals who think that traveling to some nobforsaken s***hole of a country on vacation will be a fun little jaunt. I pretty much agree with that but still feel sorry for these people anyway.
Geez, at least they are multicultural ...
It is the old 9/11 syndrome.
It’s been this way here since my first day when I was 42
64 now

Sheltered life and all
What I like about your posts is the originality. No sheep for you. Wishing you at least another 22 years.
Masks don’t work and neither did vaccinations. The data is conclusive. Other than that great analogy.
I know that! But to deny that others consider them important to the point that they will shoot you for noncompliance is unrealistic.
You have to think everything through. If I was REALLY AGAINST having to wear a mask (which I’m not, for I’m fantastically ugly and it makes me very high profile not to wear one) to the point that I would refuse to wear one in a store where I was supposed to wear one - or get thrown out - I would not go to that store. If I needed something from that particular store, I would have someone else who didn’t mind wearing a mask get it for me. Duh. In real life, Mr K - not the one on this forum - gets everything needed from stores. He’s as ugly as I am, if not uglier, and will wear a mask if he has to, but the typical state of dirtiness of his clothing makes the mask the sort of joke that almost everyone can appreciate.
Regarding vaccinations - which might conceivably kill you - you should consider forging a vaccination certificate if you have to have a shot to keep your job. I have heard the recordkeeping on the required shots and boosters is very lax and always at least a couple of weeks behind. Yeah, not only do the vaccinations not work, but they could kill you. And you can still catch SARS-CoV2! (On the plus side, if the recent overturn of Roe v Wade has you sort of down because you’re unexpectedly pregnant, get vaxxed! You’re much more likely to have a miscarriage that way. Everybody’s a winner.)
Haha, I forget that I have to explain everything here regardless how many times I’ve said it before.
Very interesting. I think I lacked back story.

The boers were right all along
