extracted from: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2022/10/16/is-global-warming-responsible-for-hurricane-ian-the-evidence-says-no/

Claim #1: Hurricane Ian tied with several other storms for 5th most intense to strike the United States mainland.
True or false? True, but Disputable.
Historically, maximum winds are estimated differently, and are not a consistent and proper measure of intensity as central barometric pressure. Ian ranks 18th of landfalling US hurricanes since 1851 based on minimum sea-level pressure at landfall.

Claims #2-3: a.) Storms like Ian are becoming more likely, and b.) a greater proportion of hurricanes are reaching major hurricane status.
False according to data and peer reviewed scientific literature.

Claim #4: Hurricanes are intensifying more rapidly due to warmer ocean waters.
False based on published research.

Claim #5: Hurricane Ian’s storm surge was made worse by sea-level rise and increasing storm size
Missing Context. Sea level rise has only been a couple of inches during modern times and does not increase the damage produced by a 10-15ft surge.

Claim #6: Hurricane Ian’s rainfall was increased by at least 10% thanks to climate change
False. Conclusions based on circular reasoning. Since its alleged to be “warmer” the atmosphere can hold more water vapor, increasing the potential for greater rainfall.

See above link for details and supporting arguments.

We have a deadly energy crisis and they’re studying this?

Eco scare porn.

Read Joe Bastardi’s “Saturday Summary” from this past Saturday where he discusses global weather patterns and “globull warming” and hurricanes. It is at Weatherbell.com and scroll down and click on “The Saturday Summary.”

Hoaxes on top of hoaxes. Lies upon lies. The multi-trillion dollar scam known as climate change.

Man-made global warming (aka climate change) is a worse hoax than horoscopes and palm reading.

It is also an unconstitutional, state-sponsored religion.

How many billions of dollars are we paying for this nonsense?

We had one of the mildest hurricane seasons in decades. Were there even 3 named storms?

Send one or two of them this way. Texas is drier than a fart.

Indeed. I think DFW could absorb an entire hurricane at this point.
