Paul Ryan griped that Trump didn't pursue cuts to Medicare

Ryan’s priority seemed to be to cut benefits for Americans while at the same time allowing millions of illegals to swarm into the country and collect benefits and undercut wages of Americans.

What happened to the border wall, Ryan? Ryan is a lying SOB. You can see what Ryan is trying to do here: scare the oldsters into voting Dem.

“ Trump was never for cutting SS and medicare. He just wasn’t.”

You are correct. And thats one reason I supported him from the start. I’ve always found it curious that we could support hundreds of countries with foreign aid, but not our own elderly with Social Security and health care assistance.

Paul Ryan wants to cut Social Security, but fund Ukraine. That’s one reason Ryan hates Trump.

What is the average Social Security check, around $1,500/month and Ryan wants to cut it. A system workers are forced to pay into their entire working lives.

But endless amounts of money for war and welfare.

Fortunately the Mccain/Ryan/Bush brand of republicanism is deader than a doornail, never to return.

Many and probably most Freepers are on Social Security and Medicare, or are getting close. I wonder, how do Freepers feel about cuts to these so-called “safety net” programs? We paid into S/S and Medicare for close to 50 years. Do we really support cuts to programs that we paid for and planned to receive in our old age? Are we being selfish by expecting our promised benefits? I sure don’t think so.

That is one of the reasons I despise Paul Ryan and foreign intervention self declared do gooders for phony democracy.

Ryan always went after SS & Medicare FIRST! Not the trillions in welfare & wars.

He did it as part of the uniparty plan to dampen GOP electoral gains, especially MAGA wins...which it did.

He is owned by special interests.

“ Do we really support cuts to programs that we paid for and planned to receive in our old age”

I don’t. That’s why I supported Trump over any of the other GOP candidates in 2016.

Lindsey is no conservative. He was best buds with the RINO John McCain.

It is MEdicade that is an “entitlement”.

Medicare is not an entitlement. It is something the government MAKES you take and it costs just as much as private insurance if not more

I’m paying more for Medicare and the supplements you must have to get even a tiny benefit, than I ever did for the great private insurance I had, but now can’t afford because I was made to take Medicare.

**spit**

It would be hard to cut the almost non-existent benefits of the paid for Medicare. Or maybe hospitalization is free, but you pay out the wazoo for the supplements you must take, and if the paid for parts b and d are sucky, I can hardly imagine the current Medicare to be any good at all.

I’m not eligible for SS for another 6 months or so, but I’m gonna keep employed as long as these old bones will allow.

Pushing entitlement reform was indeed one thing Paul Ryan got right and Trump steadfastly opposed from day one...openly.

That’s not how it works. You paid for the then-current retirees of your time - you did not “pay into it” and are now getting back what you paid in. Someone else is now paying for you, and it is spiraling ever closer to insolvency without reform.

Well said.
It worked great at first with few retirees and lots of workers.
Now it’s reversing.
