You're not the only one. TASS owned and run by the Russian government. It is a extension of the Russian Government by definition. What they say reflects what the ruling elite wants people to hear. Second, if Russia attacks a NATO country and gives reason to invoke NATO Article 5, US and NATO forces will be in Ukraine within hours and Russia knows it. Russian state TV can complain all they want how Russia is actually fighting NATO, the Kremlin and the Russian military does not want to actually fight NATO.
