I suspect that HIMARS systems have been receiving satellite recon based GPS coordinates for fixed targets. This makes sense as the accuracy of HIMARS has been extreme, as seen on the Antonovsky bridge roadbed, where the missiles hit in amazingly precise patterns. Nobody but the US has the capability to specify GPS map coordinates that accurately.
In this Sebastopol case though its obvious that the Ukrainians had real time imagery from their drones. Thats why they were able to hit moving targets. They released that video after all. That wasnt from surveillance aircraft. It remains to be seen what sort of communication system the Ukes were using for that. It could have been Musk’s commercial Starlink.
