They have already picked McCarthy. They just won’t seat him until he agrees to demands from the holdouts.

That is Frank Luntz, McCarthy’s roommate, and long time friend of the Biden clan.

Oh, you mean the Government Class Oligarchy with pronounced fascist tendencies…that system.

If the gop can’t even pick a leader, why should anyone think they can run the country? Technically, the GOP did pick McCarthy as their Majority Leader. Now they're asking to promote him to Speaker of the entire House.
If someone else eventually becomes Speaker, McCarthy will still be the GOP Majority Leader.

They have until September when they need a new Budget and spending Bills.

The “Never-McCarthy’s” and the “Only-McCarthy’s” probably won’t budge. The only resolution (apart from some Democrats voting for McCarthy) would be for McCarthy to step aside. This would allow the “Only-McCarthy’s” to save face. There won’t be enough votes for a hard right conservative. Therefore, Scalise will probably be the eventual compromise candidate.

Fight it out
Make Mark Meadows take it

This is just plain stupid and makes the party look ridiculous in the eyes of those that don’t understand the system of government that we embrace.
Not sure what "system of government" you are referring to, but in terms of the actual Democratic Republic form of government we have, this scenario we are going through is a perfect representation of the form or system of government I embrace.

If he wants to win, he’s gong to need to get some democrats to vote for him.
And if he does that, Republicans better not vote for him. I called my Rep up and stated if this happens and she votes for him, I will be voting against her next election.

Voting for Speaker IS part our Democracy.

The GOP has been weakening itself for several years now. They can't pull a stunt like supporting that worthless spending bill and expect things to be hunky dory. The GOP needs to start listening to their voters or they need to close up shop.

We’ve had speaker vote fights before
All this pearl clutching is so silly
But we got Paul Ryan in 2015 after McCarthy withdrew then
So careful with that axe Eugene

The biggest danger here is having a handful of left-wing Republicans join with the Democrats in electing either a left-wing Republican or a left-leaning independent. I think that the Republican caucus will settle on Scalise before that happens, though.

"Remember the good old days in the House with Wilber Mills & Fannie Fox ?"
In Congress, Sikes became one of the most powerful men in Washington; he was often called "Florida's third Senator". He used his seniority to help build fourteen military bases in the Panhandle. He also had a reputation for strong constituent service, which garnered him the nickname "the He-Coon". Sikes said the nickname was derived from a Panhandle legend about a male raccoon that not only knew where food and water were, but also fended off his enemies and looked after his territory. As Sikes put it, a he-coon was expected to "look after those around him."[8] wiki
