Yes, but there are worse. Scalise is far from perfect, but it would be a step in the right direction. It might also be as much as we could expect. Although Jim Jordan would be great, I don’t think that the left-wing of the Party would vote for him.
You do realize that one of the rules that they are fighting for is to allow members to offer amendments once again. Chip Roy says this hasn't been possible since 2016. The current system is utterly broken as proven by the 1.7 trillion bill that was rammed through. McCarthy has proven he wants nothing but the status quo out of Congress.
They can spend the next two years voting for a speaker for all I care. Congress, as it currently sits, is not something that benefits the American people.
