I was in a situation like this. Fortunately I got out unscathed. Now married to a nice conservative lady who thinks like I do.
A few years ago she sent me a picture of her and hubby smoozing with Pelousy in DC. I sent her an NRA Christmas card shortly after. Have had no contact since!

Nah. Hate speech has always been a tool of tyrants. They get to determine what is hate speech, and we get to be prosecuted. Nothing has changed. Nothing new under the sun.

For all it’s faults, the US Supreme Court has been 9-0 on free speech issues for some time.
The concept of “Hate Speech” does not exist in US law, nor can it without twisting the Constitution in ways even the US Left would be loathe to do, when push comes to shove.

There was an old joke going around:
