Someone should tell these clowns that the bits and bytes in your bank accounts/credit union accounts are “digital assets”...
Year 26 of not filing taxes is going to go well for me.
When they print your forms, then have YOU calculate it just so they recalculate it.. that’s volunteering.
You voluntarily pay your taxes under the false threats that they will “get you, you wascily-wabbit”
Taxes are voluntary. Still. 26 years.
If anyone wants to yell at me for not paying them, do it. :)
2) Many Americans Will See Smaller Tax Refunds
Why do so many think that smaller tax refunds is a bad thing? A tax refund just means you paid Ali Baba and the 40 Federal Thieves too much during the year. Better is no tax refund or you owe a small amount. Means you haven't rooked yourself.
“At any time during 2022, did you: (a) receive (as a reward, award or payment for property or services); or (b) sell, exchange, gift or otherwise dispose of a digital asset (or a financial interest in a digital asset)?”
Well, I feel like I and my fellow patriots made some progress this year but, still hope to eliminate your idiotic job.
Feel better?
What is a digital asset?
I am wondering what digital assets are too.
I guess it means Bitcoin or some such.
That would be embarrassing to admit you were snookered by the scams
Good for you...Everyone should find a way to do that..Besides retirement
Yes saw those new questions concerning Bitcoins...like the new question on ATF Form 4473 asking if you live in city limits or not.
This would not be a problem if we were using the FairTax model...
Taxes are nothing more than confiscation of your labor. If you are in the 25% bracket, you worked for the government for three months. If more people considered this, they’d be pissed off.
So if I receive a free video game code do I have to check the box? That is a “Digital Asset”.
Government at its finest.
Tariffs are the most fair tax of all. Dont buy, dont pay.
RE: What is a digital asset?
See here from the IRS Website:
IRS initially called them “Cryptocurrencies” (starting about 3 years ago), but since they specifically ruled that Bitcoin was a “commodity” like gold and silver (also about 3 years ago) I guess they decided to change the name this year. I was saying “No” to “Do you own any cryptocurrencies” on the 1040 since they said Bitcoin was a commodity not a currency! ;-) Crypto/”digital assets” subject to Cap Gains.
And, the FairTax works in the same way.
Airline and hotel points are a form of currency too - just sayin
BTW - I always file a paper tax return. IRS hates me. Just sent me a letter encouraging me to go digital.
If we ended automatic income tax witholding. Oh that would be tasty. If everybody had to actually write a check to pay their taxes at the end of the year.....
