Apologized elsewhere.
Sorry.
I wrote the wrong name while thinking of the right one.
Old timer’s problem like saying she went to Walgreen instead of to Wal-Mart.

Hey have to expand their draft because they have had negative population growth for years now. They expand their draft because they don’t have the population.

I know what you mean. I’m in my 70s, and I have done that.

George Burns had some good ones:

I think one can legitimately hope and pray for the survival of the American Republic while at the same time being of the belief that the American Empire simply can't collapse soon enough.

What I want to know is why is the west so desperate for WWIII? Because if Putin comes through on his plans to create a currency tied to the gold standard, then the American Empire (as well as its push for all things LBTQWERTY) collapses.
Liberalism needs money, and if the US loses that, then our international LGBTQWERTYism is lost as well.

We have an empire, and you want the Communists to bring us down by overcoming us internationally?
That is worse than merely nutty, how do you think Red China would improve the world by taking us down and becoming the world’s lone superpower?

There used to be a custom at Free Republic, that those posting links to stories on Debka would add (Debka) to the title, so that the 99% of Freepers who had learned to discount
everything Debka published, could tell from the title that the post linked to Debka, and not waste their time clicking on it.
It would be appreciated if you adopted that practice when posting links to Armstrong Economics.

Spoke with an acquaintance of mine that was a former intelligence appointee (required confirmation position) who is near certain that China will be tits up and either in major expansionist war to distract populace or major civil war by end of summer

That is worse than merely nutty, how do you think Red China would improve the world by taking us down and becoming the world’s lone superpower? China is already here.
If the US was speaking softly and carrying a big stick, then an argument could be made that the Empire should prevail.
But we're not doing that. We've been waging war on weaker nations, promoting hedonism, and sticking our beak where it doesn't belong; it's clear that our government needs an opposing force to keep it in check.
