OK, you would prefer the older one. Most men would not. Men display a strong preference for women in their early 20s when they are at peak fertility. That interest drops off considerably by the time they hit 30. We're not talking about individual preferences here. We're talking about the majority/the market.

Women do not hit the dating wall at 30, but their chances of finding a guy who will eventually marry them starts to drop sharply. I came across some actual research on this and cited it to a 29 year old friend in an effort to get her moving (she’s now married)
Around 30, women who are dating WILL find themselves losing the interest of “alpha male”/”Prince Charming” types and having to “settle” for regular guys, so I guess that is a “wall” from the woman’s perspective.
A guy at the OKCupid.com dating site did some data mining for an article. Quick summary: lots of guys are competing for the under-30 women, and younger guys are at a disadvantage compared to older guys. He advised 20-something guys to check out older women 30-45

A woman’s desirability peaks at 21, which, ironically enough is the age that men just begin their “prime,” i.e. become more desirable than average. Following that dotted line out, you can see that a woman of 31 is already “past her prime,” while a man doesn’t become so until 36. As we mentioned above, after age 26, a man has more potential matches than his female counterparts, which is a drastic reversal of the proportion in young adulthood, when women are much more sought-after. Because men’s dating preferences skew so young, and women’s are age-equitable, men peak later, and have a longer plateau of desirability, than women.
So that’s the lay of the land, and now I’d like to say why I think it could be different. In the next three sections of this post, I will show that an older woman’s attitudes, both about sex and life, are just as good if not better than her younger counterparts’, and hopefully I’ll convince more guys to venture north of their current age-limits:
You are correct that men are designed to be attracted to women in their peak fertility period. This does not mean that older women are not pleasant company.
