If a person illegaly funded gain of function research at a Chinese biological warfare institute and realized that the result was a virulent virus that killed millions and devastated the world’s economy, it is not surprising that he would use all his power and influence to absolve himself and avoid accountability. Historically the amoral monsters of history have little trouble sleeping or capacity for true self reflection.
This puts the US government in the group likely to be sued in the most massive class-action suit of all time.
