The situation really isn’t as dire as I made it sound. I have three teenage girls (granddaughters) here, and all three of them are happy to help out in the kitchen if I’m sick, say, and can’t go out. In addition, my gf will join me after she retires in a few years. She lives about 3 hours away.

Well, I did figure that if all the fast food places closed, you would somehow manage to open a can of soup and put it in the microwave rather than starving as you suggested in your other post. ;)

Yes, I could probably even manage to figure out how to add water to the dehydrated soups.

Part of the reason I don’t want to cook is an aberrant thing, I admit. I hate cooking smells, even the ones other people crave. It is weird, I know. But that’s the way it is and I avoid kitchens.

I guess that would be a deterrent, for sure. When I was pregnant with my third, smelling garlic used to send me straight to the bathroom, and also raw chicken. Funny, I could still handle beef and pork, but the poultry was unbearable. My husband had to do the breading or whatever we were having when it came to chicken. Of course, it got better after that one was born.

I’m pretty much a cooking maniac now. Especially since it’s just the two of us most of the time. Very fun and enjoyable to prepare our own meals. I also cook for friends when they need help, so it’s a good thing I enjoy it.

wow=- Yeah we’re way higher- I was gettign a soda called Dr Thunder for about $5 a 24 pack, but even that has gone up now- (I actually like it better than Dr Pepper)

We used ot pay $3.50 or so a 12 pack on sale- just a few years ago- then prices went bonkers-

I think you’ll enjoy it

Just avoid the sweet relish

The hamburger relish or Dill relish is harder to find

Dill pickle relish

Place a pat of butter on the burgers when they come off the grill - wrap in aluminum foil and let them rest for 3-5 minutes

Oh, I keep dill relish on hand for tartar sauce. Well, both dill and sweet relish. (Mix with mayonnaise and chopped capers for great homemade tartar sauce, and a little bit of finely chopped onion. ) Thx for the recipe!

A little pinch of salt and pepper won’t hurt either

I’ll sometimes throw in a bit of dried chopped chives / parsley flakes

You can also mellow it a little bit with a tablespoon or two of Ranch dressing

Kitchen sink is optional 😬😬😛😛😛

He’s, I will probably need to experiment with it to get it “just right.” Thanks!
