2028 is better, but only if Republicans can take Arizona, Michigan and Pennsylvania; those states are behind enemy lines.
Without free elections in those states Republicans will lose.
Get a grip. DeSantis has been the best Republican Governor in the country. He has done many of the right things while other Republican Governors did little or nothing. Trump was cheated out of his 2nd term and l hope he gets it. That prospect seems pretty dim at the moment. I think DeSantis thinks the forces going after Trump are too much and he is laying groundwork. If ran the country like he runs Fla that would be HUGE improvement

As a Floridian who voted for DeSantis twice, I feel he knew that he was already running for President, that the Miami vote was rigged so that he could “win in a landslide” and that he is now thinking of Iowa. I feel it was a big bait and switch con and I’m offended. I do not like Ronnie anymore.
Why wouldn’t he wait? He could have run 4 years from now with Trump’s blessings.

I would have favored him IF he had pledged to run only if Trump wasn’t on the ballot. But that’s not what he did. He is going up against Trump biting the very hand that fed him and saved his all but dead campaign for governor. I will vote for Ramaswamy before I vote for this ingrate.

The author has lacked credibility for a long time. Go back and read some of the past criticism of him on this board. Many here have always considered him to be a clown.
I've seen two polls in the last two hours that have DeSantis' presidential campaign absolutely cratering.

Seems like they’ve got everything arranged and planned to push DeSantis as the candidate.
I do not like the idea of Ron leaving Florida open.
I know there will be another Republican serving in his former
slot, but Ron had the state level position down.
What happens if he resigns, Trump gets the nom and he loses
in November?
That would leave the Democrats in charge of the national
agenda, and no Ron DeSantis to fight for Florida from the
top of that state
That’s something I’m not willing to chance, but then I’m
not the one making this choice.
In January of 2025, we could be headed into the final
winter, and it didn’t have to be that way.
What a sad eventuality if that does happen?
So does Ron refuse to endorse Trump if Trump wins the nom?
